Flat decorative item

The present innovation relates to flat decorative items, in particular wall wallpaper or curtains, especially Venetian blinds or roller blinds.

Such flat decorative items are usually printed with decorative patterns and therefore often have a flat, lifeless appearance. This applies to normal printing techniques on paper, but also to thermal transfer printing on flat plastic substrates, for example those that are subsequently folded or cut into slats for blinds. The repeating patterns are monotonous and not very natural. In addition, production is complicated and time-consuming, so that the well-known decorative items are not very suitable for mass production. Finally, the paint fumes and paint residues generated during printing pollute the atmosphere and wastewater.

The aim of this innovation is to create a flat decorative article of the type in question that exudes a lively impression of authenticity and in which the decorative patterns are not monotonously repeated. The article should have a solid plastic structure and be produced in a simple and ecological way.

The innovation is explained further below by describing embodiments based on the attached drawings. It shows:

The decorative article according to the invention consists of a flat substrate 10 as a carrier layer, which can be a paper or plastic web. On this there is an intermediate layer 20 made of dried flowers or decorative paper objects embedded in a pulp (paper pulp), which are covered by a cover layer 30 with the exception of higher and therefore protruding areas. This results in a three-dimensional surface and a non-repeating distribution of genuine decorative objects, so that a lively impression of authenticity is created.

For production, a wet pulp of a certain layer thickness and length is applied to the substrate 10.

Then the dried flowers or decorative paper objects are randomly and approximately evenly distributed, e.g. by sprinkling or spraying. These form an intermediate layer 20. A thinner pulp is then distributed on this intermediate layer in such a way that a covering layer 30 is created, which embeds and fixes the objects of the intermediate layer on its lower areas 21, but leaves higher areas 22 free. These remain visible in a three-dimensional and unrestricted manner. The laminate thus obtained is dried, leveled and pressed and then forms a flexible decorative article with a solid structure and with natural and varied-looking decorations on the top.

Fig. 3 shows how an article of the type in question can become a pleated blind; Fig. 4 how such an article can serve as wallpaper 2 for covering a wall 3. Other possibilities are winding it onto a roller for use as a roller blind or cutting it into slats for use as a slatted blind.

The article described does not contain any environmentally harmful components and none are produced during its production. In addition, the article can be reused if necessary.

Claims (5)

1. Flat decorative articles, in particular wall wallpaper or blind curtains, in which evenly distributed paper flowers or decorative paper objects are embedded in a wet pulp covering a flat substrate ( 10 ) to form an intermediate layer ( 20 ) and these are enclosed by a thinner pulp except for protruding areas ( 22 ) of the intermediate layer ( 20 ) to form a covering layer ( 30 ). 2. Decorative article according to claim 1, characterized in that the flat substrate ( 10 ) is paper webs. 3. Decorative article according to claim 1 or 2, characterized by a wallpaper strip format. 4. Decorative article according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the flat substrate ( 10 ) is folded in a zigzag pattern to form a pleated blind. 5. Decorative article according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the paper flowers or paper objects are evenly distributed by spraying.
