Bei der bekannten Bauart sind der Rückspiegel und das Anzeigeelement derart zueinander angeordnet, daß der Rückspiegel über eine Haltestange in den Fahrgastraum des Autos hineinragt und oberhalb des Anzeigelementes angeordnet ist, so daß von Personen, die sich in dem PKW befinden, das Anzeigeelement unterhalb des Rückspiegels sichtbar ist. Diese Bauweise hat den Vorteil, daß für alle Autohersteller, die ein einheitliches Halteelement an der Windschutzscheibe liefern, nur ein einziger, einteiliger Adapter für den Rückspiegel und das Anzeigeelement erforderlich ist. Ein derartiger zweiarmiger Adapter ist einfach im Aufbau und kann sehr leicht montiert werden. Dabei sind die Teile 13a, 15a aus einem Stück gefertigt und mit den Teilen 13b, 15b fest verbunden. Das Anzeigeelement 16 sitzt fest auf dem Teil 15a, und der Rückspiegel 14 ist über ein Kugelgelenk 17 mit dem Teil 13b gelenkig verbunden. Der Adapter 12 ist mit seinenm oberen Armteil 15b über ein Kugelgelenk 18 mit einem gemeinsamen Befestigungselement 19 verbunden, das am Halteelement 11 der Windschutzscheibe 10 befestigt ist.
