Description
The invention relates to a concrete stone, in particular a concrete paving stone, with a tumbled surface.
Concrete blocks are made in a wide variety of shapes and from a wide variety of materials and are used as paving stones as well as wall and boundary stones. Sandstone concrete blocks with a tumbled surface are particularly popular, as they visually give the impression of natural sandstone.
The present invention is based on the object of creating cuboid-shaped concrete blocks of this type which are particularly easy to manufacture, visually convey the impression of a natural, stonemason-like worked stone and are also characterized by a high frost resistance.
This task is solved by a concrete stone, in particular a concrete paving stone, with a tumbled surface, whereby the length, width and height of the stone are determined by splitting off a strand-like concrete blank, the height and width of which define the length and width of the stone.
Dieser Eindruck entsteht insbesondere dann, wenn der Betonstein von einem Sandsteinbeton-RohlingBy splitting off a strand-like concrete blank, the concrete block receives a large and irregularly structured split surface, which visually gives the impression of a natural stone, whereby the embedded grain is also split during the splitting off. This impression is created in particular when the concrete block is cut off from a sandstone concrete blank.
Because the height and width of the blank define the length and width of the stone, the concrete stone produced has a high compressive strength. After laying, the visible, driving and walking surface of the stone extends transversely to the strand direction. After laying, the concrete stone according to the invention is therefore loaded in the strand direction. In this direction, the concrete stone has the greatest compressive strength.
Finally, the concrete block according to the invention can be manufactured particularly easily due to the described splitting from a strand-like concrete blank, whereby the block is given the tumbled surface by a conventional drum process. After the splitting process, the disc blanks are placed in a rotating drum in which the blocks work on each other and against the drum wall in such a way that sharp edges and raised areas are chipped and scraped off. The rough surface caused by the splitting process is thus made smoother and easier to drive and walk on. After this drum process, the blocks are either poured loosely onto a vehicle, or palletized by hand or using a machine.
As already mentioned, a particularly beautiful impression of a natural paving stone is obtained when it is made of sandstone concrete. Care must be taken to ensure that the grain is sufficiently firmly embedded in the cement so that when a blank slice is split off, the grain also breaks, resulting in a split surface that looks absolutely natural. Accordingly, such paving stones are particularly suitable for renovating or rebuilding walkways, gardens, parks, courtyards or similar old castles and palaces. Sandstone concrete stones of the type according to the invention can be used to create a natural castle courtyard pavement.
A method for producing concrete blocks of the type mentioned is characterized in that first a strand-like concrete blank, in particular from a type of sandstone concrete, is produced with a predetermined height, width and length.
The concrete blank, for example, has a length of about 60 cm, a height of about 20 cm and a width of about 10 cm. After such a concrete blank has hardened, the aforementioned splitting into blank discs takes place. The blank discs are then tumbled in the manner described so that sharp edges are chipped and scraped off and angular projections, particularly in the area of the split surfaces, are removed.
The splitting of a blank disc from the strand-like concrete blank is preferably carried out in two steps in such a way that the concrete blank is first pressed on two opposite narrow sides between two knife-like strips, and then completely broken off from the concrete blank in the "cracking plane" by splitting knives acting on the opposite sides. This four-sided splitting process has proven to be particularly efficient. In this way, a very flat break is obtained, with the split surfaces looking deceptively similar to the corresponding surfaces of a natural stone. This is particularly important because the split surfaces are intended to define the visible, driving and walking surfaces of the stone. The sharp edges that arise during splitting, especially peripheral edges, are softened by the described tumbling of the stones.
The concrete blanks are manufactured as concrete strands on a block manufacturing machine with base boards. The height of the blanks (mold height) defines the length of the paving stone after the splitting process, which does not necessarily have to be dimensionally accurate and can certainly contain different stone lengths. The width of the blank corresponds to the row width of the paving stone after the splitting process and is very dimensionally accurate.
The manufacture of a concrete block according to the invention is explained in more detail below using the attached drawing.

In Fig. 1, a cuboid-shaped concrete strand 10 is shown, which is preferably made of sandstone concrete. This concrete strand has a length 11, width 12 and height 13. The production of such concrete strands takes place on a conventional stone production machine on support boards. After the concrete strands 10 have hardened, a blank disc is split off, which is identified in Fig. 4 with the reference number 14 ge-5, by first pressing the concrete strand 10 on two opposite narrow sides, which define the width 12 of the concrete strand, between two knife-like strips 15 in the direction of the arrows 16 in Fig. 2. The blank disc 14 is then split off by splitting knives 15 and 17 acting on all opposite sides, with the splitting knives 15 and 17 in Fig. 3 acting in the direction of arrows 16 and 18. The splitting off of a blank disc 14 from the strand-like concrete blank 10 is therefore carried out by a two-stage four-side splitting process, as indicated in Figs. 2 and 3. This process ensures relatively flat fracture or split surfaces that give the impression of fracture surfaces like those of natural stones.
In order to knock off or remove the sharp edges and elevations that arise during splitting, the split blank disc 14 is brought into a rotating drum 19 as shown in Fig. 4, in which the blank discs knock off and scrape off the sharp edges and elevations from each other and against the drum wall. The rough fracture or split surface caused by the splitting process is thus flatter and easier to drive and walk on. Edges are rounded off or scraped off. The desired concrete block 20 is created with a length "L", width "B" and height "H", whereby the length "L" and the width "B" of the finished concrete block 20 correspond to the mold height 13 and width 12 of the strand-like concrete blank 10. The height "H" of the concrete block is determined by the split length 21 for the blank disc 14 from the concrete blank 10 (see Fig. 2 and 4). The naturally structured fracture or split surface of the concrete block 20 manufactured in the manner described is marked with the reference number 22 in Fig. 4. These surfaces define the visible or driving and walking surfaces when laid. The narrow and front sides of the concrete block 20 are marked with the reference numbers 23 and 24 in Fig. 4. These surfaces are relatively smooth and dimensionally accurate due to the manufacturing process. This makes the concrete block manufactured in the manner described very easy to lay. The surfaces 23, 24 are created during the manufacture of the concrete blank 10. They are part of the surfaces of the concrete blank 10 that define the mold height 13 and width 12, which are created during the manufacture of the same.
