Wing protector for safety latch

The invention relates to protectors for security bolts which are used as security devices against breaking into windows and doors.

Such security bolts are usually mounted in a bearing that is attached to the window or door frame parallel to the rebate edge, and can be plugged in or pivoted, with the bolt leg extending over the sash frame. In this position, the security bolt is then secured against being forced open by being locked or locked with a locking cylinder.

The described safety latches are installed as additional security for the window or door mechanisms, which are operated in the usual way with window or door handles.

It can therefore often happen that when the window or door handle is operated, the sash frame hits the not yet unlocked locking leg of the security bolt, which often results in pressure marks and damage to the sash frame.

In constructions where the locking legs are designed as a loose part, sliding, plugging and locking, in the bearing, scratches or grinding marks cannot be avoided.

Such protectors can advantageously be made of mushroom-shaped buffers with a retaining pin made of soft plastic, which can be pressed into retaining holes at the impact point in the locking leg.

But adhesive protectors, such as adhesive pads with felt or rubber covering, can also be used for this purpose.
