Description
Transport and storage tanks are sometimes also equipped for top emptying. The device required for this includes a riser pipe that runs vertically through the interior of the tank, with its upper end attached to a drain opening in the apex area of the tank and its lower end ending in a sump cup formed in the tank bottom area. In order to be able to pull the riser pipe out when necessary, for example to clean the interior of the tank and the riser pipe itself, it is only rigidly fixed at its upper end, while its lower end is only held against lateral movement, but can be removed.
From DE 93 12 902 Ul a riser pipe holder according to the preamble of claim 1 is known, which consists of a vertically arranged piece of sheet metal welded to the tank shell and protruding into the lower end of the riser pipe.
In tanks that are provided with an internal coating to hold corrosive liquids, the use of the known arrangement entails the risk that the relative movements between the lower end of the riser pipe and the piece of sheet metal used to hold it, which are unavoidable during transport, will damage the coating on both the piece of sheet metal and the riser pipe. Such damage occurs relatively quickly, since the edges of the piece of sheet metal only absorb a very thin coating during the coating process. In addition, every time the riser pipe is removed and reinserted, damage to the coating on the piece of sheet metal and the inside surface of the riser pipe is unavoidable.
On the other hand, with unguided riser pipes with a particularly brittle coating (phenolic resin, glass enamel), there is a risk of stress cracks at the connection point between the riser pipe and the riser pipe flange that is firmly connected to the tank shell. High stresses are caused by surge stress during transport and by vibrations in the riser pipe during filling and emptying.
The invention is based on the object of at least partially eliminating the disadvantages existing in the comparable prior art. A more specific object of the invention is to provide a riser pipe holder which, while guiding the riser pipe securely and holding it against lateral movements, is particularly suitable for tanks with an internal coating.
The solution to this problem according to the invention is characterized in claim 1. The retaining element provided therein consists of soft, corrosion-resistant material, which according to claim 9 is preferably polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Since the retaining element is made entirely of this workpiece, any wear and tear that occurs over time is harmless. At the same time, damage to a coating on the inside wall of the riser pipe, which, like the coating on the inside wall of the tank, can also consist of PTFE, is practically avoided.
The further developments of the invention according to claims 2 and 3 are particularly advantageous in that they do not require any fixing measures on the inside wall of the tank. Rather, the holding element can be attached to the lower end of the riser pipe and inserted into the tank together with it. Because the holding element engages with its lower area in the recess of the sump cup and the riser pipe is fixed to the tank at its upper end, the lower end of the riser pipe is prevented from moving sideways.
The embodiments of the invention according to claims 4 to 8 do require a fixing element to be provided on the tank bottom, which according to claim 4 preferably consists of a screw bolt, but is advantageous for handling in that the holding element remains in the tank when the pipe is pulled out. It is therefore undetachable. It does not need to be removed from the riser pipe to clean it, and there is also no risk of the riser pipe subsequently being accidentally inserted into the tank without the holding element.
Darin zeigtEmbodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.

Figur 8 eine Variante des Ausführungsbeispiels nach Figur 7.Figure 8 shows a variant of the embodiment according to Figure 7.
Ebenso
weist das Steigrohr 14 eine Beschichtung 18 auf. Die Beschichtung 17, 18 besteht beispielsweise aus PTFE.The tank 10 shown in Figure 1 with its (only partially shown) container frame 11 has a fitting 12 arranged in the apex area, which comprises a drainage opening (not shown in detail) and an overflow pan with a lid surrounding it. A riser pipe 14 which passes through the interior of the tank and runs in the vertical plane containing the tank axis 13 is attached at its upper end in the area of the drainage opening and ends at the bottom in the area of a sump cup 15 which extends downwards from the tank base and forms the lowest point of the tank space.
As illustrated in Figure 2, the tank shell 16 is provided with a coating 17 on its inside. The riser pipe 14 also has a coating 18. The coating 17, 18 consists of PTFE, for example.
Die Abschrä-A holding element 20 is inserted in the lower end of the riser pipe 14 in the form of a plug, which is designed in cross-section as a three-armed star (see Figure 3) and is made as a one-piece molded body made of PTFE. The ends of the arms 21 are beveled upwards to create an overall approximately conical outer contour in order to facilitate the insertion of the holding element 20 into the lower end of the riser pipe. The bevel
The arrangement is selected such that the holding element is held in the riser pipe 14 in a slightly compressed manner.
With their lower areas, the arms 21 rest against the inside of the sump cup 15. Since, as can be seen from Figure 1, this forms an inwardly concave depression in the shape of a spherical cap, in the state shown in Figure 2, in which the holding element 20 is pushed as far as possible into the riser pipe 14 and abuts the sump cup 15 with its lower part, lateral deflection is not possible, even though the holding element 20 is not permanently attached to the tank shell.
If the riser pipe 14 is pulled out of the tank for cleaning, the holding element 20 is taken with it. After cleaning, the holding element 20 is reinserted into the lower end of the riser pipe 14 and lowered together with it until it touches the bottom of the tank inside the sump cup 15.
During emptying, the liquid tank contents flow upwards through the three gaps remaining between the arms 21 on the one hand and the riser pipe 14 and the sump cup 15 on the other hand and a central hole 22 passing through the holding element 20, as well as through the riser pipe.
Figures 4 and 5 show two different embodiments of the holding element 30 and 40, respectively. In the left-hand part of both figures, the holding element 30 is designed as a hollow cylindrical ring and has, at least in its upper part, an outer surface that tapers slightly conically towards the top. The taper corresponds to the inclination of the outer end of the arms 21 in the holding element 20 according to Figure 2 and serves to clamp the holding element 30 like a plug within the lower riser pipe end in Figure 4.
Bei diesem Ausführungsbeispiel strömt die aus dem Tank durch das Steigrohr 14 zu entleerende Flüssigkeit durch das ringförmige Halteelement 30 radial durchsetzende DurchbrücheIn this embodiment, the liquid to be drained from the tank through the riser pipe 14 flows through the annular retaining element 30 through openings radially penetrating
As shown in Figure 4, these openings 31 border on the lower surface of the holding element 30. Alternatively, they can
auch als den mittleren Bereich des Rings durchsetzende, allseitig umgebende Durchbrüche gestaltet sein.can also be designed as openings that penetrate the middle area of the ring and surround it on all sides.
The design of the holding element 40 in the right part of Figures 4 and 5 differs from the holding element 30 in the left part of the two figures in that it is not inserted into the riser pipe end but is placed like a lid on the riser pipe end. In order to ensure that the holding element 40, which is again designed as a hollow cylindrical ring, is not pushed too far onto the riser pipe 14 but protrudes far enough over it that its openings 41 are below the riser pipe end, the holding element 40 has an annular step 42 on its inside against which the end of the riser pipe 14 abuts.
Instead of the ring shape shown, a substantially star-shaped configuration similar to Figure 3 is also conceivable for the holding element 40 according to the right-hand part of Figures 4 and 5; in such a case, the holding element pushed onto the riser pipe end would consist of a lid-like element reduced to a few arms.
The holding element 50 according to Figures 6 and 7 is designed in a somewhat mushroom-like manner in longitudinal section and has a lower central threaded hole with which it is screwed onto a screw bolt 51 welded to the tank shell 16 in the center of the sump bowl 15. In order to ensure that the holding element 50 reaches the tank bottom despite the weld seam 52 surrounding the screw bolt 51 and seals the screw bolt 51, the coating of which will generally be imperfect, the holding element 50 is provided with a conical recess 53 on its lower end face.
Dabei ist das Halteelement 50, das ebenso wie in den oben beschriebenen Ausführungsbeispielen aus PTFE besteht, sowohl an seiner Spitze als auch im Bereich seinesThe upper part of the holding element 50 is generally conical, and the largest diameter of the holding element 15 is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the riser tube 14 in order to facilitate the sliding on of the lower end of the riser tube 14. The holding element 50, which is made of PTFE as in the embodiments described above, is both at its tip and in the area of its
größten ümfangs abgerundet, um Beschädigungen der Steigrohrbeschichtung 18 zu vermeiden.rounded as far as possible to avoid damage to the riser pipe coating 18.
As shown in Figure 7, the holding element 50 is approximately diamond-shaped in cross-section with rounded ends in order to leave the flow cross-section of the riser pipe 14 as free as possible.
An alternative to the design according to Figure 7 is shown in Figure 8. The holding element 60 according to Figure 8 has a substantially star-shaped cross-section with three (or four or more) arms 61, whereby the longitudinal section of the holding element 60 according to Figure 8 can correspond to the longitudinal section of the holding element 50 shown in Figure β.
(Figur 2)A holding element 20, which is designed as a one-piece molded body made of PTFE, is used to hold the lower end of a riser pipe 14 within a sump cup 15 in the bottom area of a tank 10 against lateral movements of the riser pipe 14. This molded body is inserted into the lower end of the riser pipe and rests with its lower part in the sump cup 15. In another design, the molded body can also be screwed onto a screw bolt welded to the tank shell in the area of the sump cup. The soft, corrosion-resistant material of the holding element 20 prevents damage to a coating 17, 18 on the inside of the tank shell 16 and on the riser pipe 14.
