Die Erfindung betrifft eine wärmeisolierende Körper-Ummantelung, insbesondere für Warmwasserbehälter oder dergleichen, bspw. Eine auf den Behälter aufgeklebte Isolierschicht läßt sich nicht ohne weiteres vom Behälter entfernen; Kleber und Isolierschicht können nicht voneinander getrennt werden. Bei der eingangs zum Stande der Technik genannten Isolier-Ummantelung -läßt sich die gleichzeitig mit der die ineinandergreifenden Hakenleisten aufweisenden Spannbandage ausgebildete Isolierung insgesamt von dem Körper bzw. Aufgrund dieser verblüffend einfachen Maßnahme, nämlich die Isolier-Ummantelung aus losen, einzelnen und nicht durch eine Kleberschicht miteinander verbundenen Teilen herzustellen, die erst nach dem Verspannen der bspw. aus Polystyrol bestehenden Außenbandage zu einem festen Verbund zusammengefügt sind, bereitet das Recycling keinerlei Probleme mehr. Die einzelnen Mantelsegmente, vorzugsweise fünf, brauchen nämlich nur an die Außenwand des zu isolierenden Körpers angelegt und danach um diese herum die Außenbandage gelegt und verspannt zu werden. Die Außenbandage kann hierbei über die gesamte Körperhöhe reichen; alternativ ist es möglich, auch mehrere in bestimmten Abständen voneinander angeordnete Außenbandagen vorzusehen.
