Abstract

The automatically-releasing hook for a sailboard harness is mounted on a baseplate conventionally fitted into the harness, by means of a flat bracket. Load transmission from bracket to hook is via balls in hemispherical recesses in the mating faces of the bracket and of a disc-shaped extension of the hook respectively. Hook disengagement is opposed by pressure from a helical spring, compressed by a nut on a bolt held in the bracket, about which the hook-extension can pivot. The nut is of butterfly-type to permit release-load adjustment.
