Description
The invention relates to an electrical or optical cable with plastic jacket and a diffusion-inhibiting metallic Layer in the area of the jacket.
As is known, plastic cable jackets do not have one negligible water vapor permeability. To the sensitive Protect the cable core from the ingress of moisture Therefore, measures are required with which the passage of Moisture is prevented by the plastic of the jacket. This is done in a known manner in that the cable jacket is constructed as a layered jacket, the one closed Contains metal layer. This metal layer consists of Layered jacket made of a metal foil with the plastic material of the jacket is firmly connected. Under the influence Electric fields can be found in such a metal layer High electrical voltages can be induced, which can be disadvantageous can impact. Especially with itself free of metal assembled cables, such as optical cables, can the induction of high longitudinal stresses the usability affect. Metal-free optical cables used in the course of High-voltage lines would be laid through such Metal layer lose their advantage of freedom from potential. On the other hand, there are reliable water vapor barriers on cables, who have sensitive souls or extreme weather conditions exposed are required.
Der DE-OS 23 02 662 ist der Hinweis zu entnehmen, daß eine Metallfolie als Schutzmantel und Dampfsperre insbesondere bei optischen Kabeln sehr gut geeignet ist.DE-OS 20 59 784 is a layer film known from a continuous There is metal foil, which is on both sides with the apart Plastic layers can be thermally welded. DE-OS 23 02 662 the note is that a metal foil as a protective jacket and vapor barrier in particular is very suitable for optical cables.
The invention has for its object an electrical or to specify optical cable with a plastic jacket that has a reliable metallic diffusion barrier, in which is not dangerous due to electrical interference Voltages can be induced. The structure of the cable should don't get complicated.
This problem is solved with a cable of the type described at the beginning Art according to the invention in that the diffusion-inhibiting Layer of one on both sides with metal layer sections limited length covered plastic film is formed the metal layer sections on each side of the plastic film are spaced one behind the other, the distances between the successive metal layer sections of the one side on the other side with the plastic film Metal layer sections are covered overlapping and different Metal layer sections are not mutually in the cable touch.
Metal foil sections come primarily as metal layer sections in question, which is firmly attached to the plastic film are coated on one or both sides with a copolymer could be.
The cable according to the invention has the advantage that its sheath has a good diffusion barrier without dangerous voltages being able to be built up in the sheath by induction. The following comparison shows the great advantage of the cable according to the invention. For cables, the formula E = 2 π f M · l · I · r K with F = frequency (Hz), M = mutual inductance (mH / km) of the FM cable to the power cable, l = length (km), I = electrical current in the event of a short circuit (kA), r K = reduction factor.
In a cable with a continuous metal foil, for example a layered cable, one kilometer long, would however, a voltage of 5.6 kV builds up.
An embodiment is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. Fig. 1 shows a cross section through a cable with a layer jacket. In FIG. 2, the water vapor barrier is shown as a view.
In the cable according to Fig. 1, the cable core 6 is surrounded by a water vapor barrier and the plastic jacket 5. The water vapor barrier consists of a plastic film 1 , which is covered on both sides with metal layer sections 2 . The foil overlaps and thus forms a largely closed metal shell.
The structure of the water vapor barrier is shown in Fig. 2. The plastic film 1 is covered on both sides with metal layer sections 2 . These can be laminated on as metal foil sections or can also be vapor-deposited or applied chemically. The metal layer sections have limited length and are applied to each side of the plastic film with a distance B - B ' to each other. The distances B - B ' are covered on the other side of the plastic film by metal layer sections whose length 3 is greater than the distances B - B' . In this way, the metal layer sections on one side overlap those on the other side in area 4 . The water vapor diffusion through the area 4 can be largely controlled by the dimensions of this area and is negligible.
The foil covered with metal layer sections can envelop the cable core lengthways or can also be wrapped around the core. To ensure the aim of the invention, the metal layer must cover the plastic film in such a way that different metal foil sections 2 in the cable do not touch one another, since otherwise high longitudinal stresses can be built up again.
In this way, the build-up of longitudinal stress is avoided and at the same time inhibiting water vapor diffusion Opposite barrier.
