Verfahren zur Herstellung von Arainphosphatsalzen
oder deren Gemische mit Phosphoramiden sowie die
Verfahrensprodukte enthaltende Schmieröle
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Aminphosphatsalzen
oder deren Gemische mit Phosphoramiden, die nach dem Verfahren hergestellten Produkte sowie die Verfahrensprodukte enthaltende Schmieröle.
Aminphosphatsalze wurden bisher durch Erhitzen eines Amins
und der entsprechenden 0,0-Dihydrofiarby!phosphorsäure hergestellt.
Wenn Trialkylphosphate mit Aminen umgesetzt werden, wirken sie als Alkylierungsmittel, wobei sich dae nachstehend
angegeben«

Wenn R in vorstehender Gleichung ein aromatischer Rest ist, findet keine Reaktion zwischen dem Amiη und dem Phosphat

Past alle Phosphoramide wurden aus Phosphorylchlorid und
Aminen synthetisiert. Diese Reaktion genügt für akademische
Forschung, ist jedoch für großtechnische Produktion von Öllöslichen Produkten nicht praktikabel, weil die Wasserwaschstufe,die
zur Entfernung der Chloride erforderlich ist, ernste Emulgierungsproblerne aufwirft.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß gewisse borhaltige Katalysatoren zur Herstellung von Aminphosphatsalzen oder deren Gemische
mit Phosphoramiden aus Triarylphosphaten und aliphatischen
Aminen verwendet werden können.
Die Reaktion zwischen einem Triarylphosphat und einem primären oder aekundären aliphatischen Amin wird durch Borsäure katalysiert,
wobei eine schnelle selektive Bildung des Aminphosphatsalzes erfolgt.
Die Reaktion zwischen einem Triarylphosphat und einem primären oder sekundären aliphatischen Amin wird durch Trialkylborat
katalysiert, wobei ein Gemisch aus Aminphosphatsalzen und
Phosphoramiden entsteht.
Phosphoramide lassen sich durch Methoden herstellen, die keine Chloridentfernung erfordern, wenn ein Triarylphosphat und
ein primäres oder sekundäres aliphatisches Amin in Gegenwart
von Bortrifluorid umgesetzt werden, wobei man vorwiegend ein Phosphoramid oder Biphosphoramid zusammen mit geringeren Mengen
des Aminphosphatsalzes erhält.
Gewisse der nach dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren hergestellten
Produkte eignen sich besonders als Antioxidantien, Antiverschleißmittel
und reibungsmodifizierende Additive für . Schmieröle.

Bevorzugte Triarylphosphate für die erfindungsgemäße Verwendung
sind diejenigen der Formel
worin R ein Halogenatom, einen Alkyl-, Alkoxy-, Nitro-, Trifluormethyl
oder Dihydrocarbylaminrest und η 0, 1 oder 2 bedeuten.
Bevorzugte primäre oder sekundäre aliphatische Amine sind diejenigen, worin der aliphatische Rest 4 bis 18 C-Atome
enthält.
Besonders bevorzugte Phosphate und Amine als Ausgangsmaterial zur Herstellung der Schmieröladditive sind diejenigen, worin
R einen Alkylrest und das aliphatische Amin ein primäres . Alkylamin mit 12 bis 18 C-Atomen sind.
Im vorliegenden haben folgende Ausdrücke folgende Bedeutung.
"Aryl" bedeutet eine Verbindung mit mindestens einem aromatischen 6-gliedrigen C-Ring. Es kann andere cycloaliphatische Ringe
und/oder irgendwelche Substituentengruppen enthalten, die
den gewünschten Reaktionsablauf nicht ungünstig beeinflussen.
"Primäres Amin" bedeutet ein Amin mit 2 Wasserstoffsubstituenten
und einem Nicht-Wasserstoffsubstituenten, der durch eine
Kohlenstoffbindung an ein Stickstoffatom gebunden ist.

"Sekundäres Amin" bedeutet ein Amin mit einem Wasserstoffsubstituenten
und zwei Nicht-Wasserstoffsubstituenten, die
durch einen Kohlenstoff an das Stickstoffatom gebunden sind.
"Aliphatisch" bedeutet einen nicht-aromatischen kohlenstoffhaltigen
Rest, der entweder gesättigt oder ungesättigt ist, wobei er eine oder mehrere olefinische oder acetylenische
Doppelbindungen enthalten kann. Der aliphatische Rest soll keine Substituenten enthalten, die die erfindungsgemäße
Reaktion ungünstig beeinflussen können. Vorzugsweise enthält die aliphatische Gruppe nur Kohlenstoff- und Wasserstoffatome
und besteht aus 3 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen.
"Alkyl" bedeutet eine gesättigte aliphatische Kohlenstoffkette mit 1 bis 30 C-Atomen, die nur Kohlenstoff- und Wasserstoffatome
enthält.
"Halogen" bedeutet Fluor, Chlor, Brom oder Iod.
"Alkoxy" bedeutet den Rest Alkyl-0-, worin Alkyl vorstehende
Bedeutung hat.
"Hydrocarbyl" bedeutet einen aliphatischen C^- bis C,Q-
oder aromatischen Cg- bis C,0-Kohlenwasserstoffrest, de
nur Kohlenstoff- und Wasserstoffatome enthält.
Die Reaktion wird vorzugsweise durch Vereinigung von 1 bis 20 Mol Amin, je Mol Triarylphosphat im Reaktionsgemisch durchgeführt.
Im allgemeinen verläuft die Reaktion am wirkungsvollsten, wenn das Molverhältnis der Reaktionsteilnehmer 2 bis 3 Mol
Amin je Mol Triarylphosphat beträgt.

Die Reaktion ist gewöhnlich nach 0,5 bis 30 Stunden beendet, wenn eine Reaktionstemperatur von 100 bis 20O0C angewandt
wird.
überschüssiges Amin, aromatische Nebenprodukte und Katalysator
können gegebenenfalls vom Reaktionsprodukt durch Vakuumdestillation bei 100 bis 1000 Pa und einer Topftemperatur
von etwa 100 bis 1700C entfernt werden*
Eine katalytische Menge des borhaltigen Katalysators muß in Reaktionsgemisch vorliegen. Vorzugsweise werden 1 bis 5 Gew.-JG,
bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht von Amin und Phosphat, und besonders
bevorzugt 3 bis 5 Gew.-JS der borhaltigen Verbindung
als Katalysator verwendet. Die als erfindungsgemäße Katalysatoren verwendbaren Borverbindungen sind Borsäure, Bortrifluorid
und Trialkylborät der Formel (R-^O),B, worin R^ einen Alkylrest
mit 2 bis 6 C-Atomen bedeutet. Vorzugsweise ist die.Alkyl-'
gruppe Ethyl, Propyl, Amy1, Butyl oder Hexyl. Die am meisten
bevorzugte Alkylgruppe ist Butyl. ·
Gegebenenfalls kann die Reaktion in Gegenwart eines Kohlenwasserstoffverdünnungsmittels
durchgeführt werden, jedoch verläuft die Reaktion gewöhnlich auf zufriedenstellende Weise
in Abwesenheit irgendeines Lösungs- oder Verdünnungsmittels.
Die nach dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren hergestellten Aminphosphatsalze
und Gemische davon mit Phosphoramiden besitzen
eine Vielzahl von Anwendungsmöglichkeiten wieVSchmieröladditive,
Verdickungsmittel und Bioeide.
Die bevorzugten Ausgangsmaterialien zur Herstellung der €rfindungsgemäßeη
Verbindungen zur Verwendung in Schmierölgemischen

sind vorstehend beschrieben. Diese Verbindungen bzw. Zusammensetzungen
sind besonders geeignet als Antioxidantien, Antiverschleiß- und Reibungsniodifikations-Additive für
Schmieröle. Ihre Verwendung in ölen verringert den Kraftverlust zwischen gleitenden Teilen und kann die Anzahl an
Kilometern erhöhen, die ein Motor je Liter öl schaffen kann.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Schmierölgemische können hergestellt werden,
indem man ein öl mit Schmierviskosität mit 0,01 bis 10 Gev.-%
der gewünschten Phosphorverbindung als Additiv vermischt. Die Menge an Additiv, die im Schmieröl vorliegen kann, um
demselben die gewünschten Eigenschaften zu verleihen, schwankt mit der Art des Additivs, der Art des Schmieröls und der
Gegenwart anderer Additive. Diese Art der Schwankung ist in der Technik wohl bekannt. Im allgemeinen beträgt die bevorzugte
Additivkonzentration 0,05 bis 2 Gew.-?, bezogen auf das Gewicht des fertigen Schmierölgemisches.
Zu den erfindungsgemäß verwendbaren Schmierölen gehört eine Vielzahl von Kohlenwasserstoffölen. Andere öle umfassen
Schmieröle, die von Kohleprodukten und synthetischen ölen stammen,
z.B. Alkylenpolymere (wie Polypropylen, Polybutylen und Gemische davon), alkylenoxidartige Polymere (z.B. Alkylenoxidpolymere,
hergestellt durch Polymerisierung von Alkylenoxiden wie Propylenoxid in Gegenwart von Wasser oder Alkohol, z.B.
Ethylalkohol), Carbonsäureester (z.B. solche, die durch Veresterung von Carbonsäuren wie Adipinsäure, Azelainsäure,
Suberinsäure, Sebacinsäure, Alkeny!bernsteinsäure, Fumarsäure
oder Maleinsäure mit dem Alkohol wie Butylalkohol, Hexylalkohol, 2-Ethylhexylalkohol oder Pentaerythrit hergestellt wurden), flüssige

Alkylbenzole, Polyphenole (z.B. Biphenole und Terphenole), Alkylbiphenylether, Ester und Polymere von Silicium, z.B.
Tetraethylsilikat.", Tetraisopropylsilikat, Hexyl-(1t-methyl-2·*
pentoxy)-diailikat, Poly(methyl)siloxan und Poly(methylphenyl)-siloxan.
Die Schmieröle können einzeln oder in Kombinationen verwendet werden, wenn immer sie mischbar sind oder wenn
immer sie durch Verwendung von gemeinsamen Lösungsmitteln
mischbar gemacht wurden. Die Schmieröle besitzen im allgemeinen eine Viskosität von 50 bis 5 000 SUS und gewöhnlich
von 100 bis 1 500 SUS bei 380C.
Zusätzlich zu den erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen können andere
Additive erfolgreich in den erfindungsgemäßen Schmierölgemischen
eingesetzt werden, ohne deren Stabilität und Leistung über einen weiten Temperaturbereich zu beeinträchtigen. Eine
Art von Additiv ist ein Antioxidant oder Oxidationsinhibitor. Diese Art von Additiv wird verwendet, um ein Beschlagen und
die Schlammbildung auf Metallteilen sowie die Korrosion von legierten Lagern zu verhindern. Typische Antioxidantien sind
schwefelhaltige, phosphorhaltige oder stickstoffhaltige Verbindungen
wie organische Amine, Sulfide, Hydroxysulfide oder Methanole allein oder in Kombination mit Metallen wie Zink,
Zinn oder Barium.
Besonders geeignete Antioxidantien sind Phenyl-c-naphthylamin,
Bis-(alkylphenyl)-amin, N,N'-Diphenyl-p-phenylendiamin,
2,2,4-TrimethyldihydroxychinolinOligomeres, Bis(4-isopropyl aminophenyl)ether,
N-Acylaminophenol, N-Acy!phenothiazine,
N-Hydrocarbylamide von Ethylendiamintetraessigsäure oder Alkylphenol-formaldehyd-aminpolykondensate.

Ein anderes verwendbares Additiv ist ein Rostinhibitor.
Der Rostinhibitor wird in allen Arten von Schmierölen verwendet, um die Bildung von Rost auf Oberflächen von Metallteilen
zu unterdrücken. Beispiele für Rostinhibitoren sind Natriumnitrit, AlkenyIbernsteinsäuren und Derivate davon,
Alkylthioessigsäure und Derivate davon, substituierte Imidazole oder Aminphosphate. Ein anderes Additiv, das in die erfindungsgemäßen
Schmierölgemische eingearbeitet werden kann, ist ein Antikorrosionsmittel. Das Antikorrosionsmittel wird verwendet,
um Oxidation zu verhindern, so daß die Bildung von sauren Körpern unterdrückt wird und um Filme über den Metalloberflächen
zu bilden, die die Wirkung von korrosiven Materialien auf Metallteile, die denselben ausgesetzt sind, zu verringern.
Typische Antikorrosionsmittel sind organische Verbindungen, die aktiven Schwefel, Phosphor oder Stickstoff enthalten,
wie organische Sulfide, Phosphide, Metallsalze von Thiophosphorsäure, cyclische und acyclische Epoxide und sulfurierte Wachse,
Bariumphenate oder Sulfonate. Ein besonders wirksamer Korrosionsinhibitor ist Ammoniumdinonylnaphthylensulfonat.
Andere erfindungsgemäß einsetzbare Schmieröladditive sind
Antischaummittel (z.B. Silikone, organische Copolymere), Stabilisatoren, Antifleckmittel, Klebrigkeitsmittel, Antirattermittel,
Tropfpunktverbesserer, Antiquietschmittel, Schmierölfarbkorrektoren, Extrem-Druckmittel, geruchsregulierende
Mittel, Dispergiermittel, Detergentien sowie andere Antiverschleißmittel
wie Tricresylphosphat und Zxnkdxthiophosphatester.
In vielen Fällen kann es vorteilhaft sein, Konzentrate des erfindungsgemäßen Reaktionsproduktes in einem flüssigen Träger
herzustellen. Die Verwendung von Konzentraten schafft eine bequeme Methode der Handhabung und des Transportes der Reaktionsprodukte,
die anschließend verdünnt und verwendet werden

können. Die Konzentration des Reaktionsproduktes in den Konzentraten kann 10 bis 90 Gew.-# betragen, obgleich es
bevorzugt wird, die Konzentration zwischen etwa 20 und 80 Gew.-% zu halten.
Ein 1-Liter-Kolben wurde mit 109 g (1/3 Mol) Triphenylphosphat
und 215 g (1 Mol) Kokosarain (96 % n-Dodecylamin) beschickt.
Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde unter Rühren auf 150°C unter Stickstoff 4 Stunden lang erhitzt. Die Infrarotanalyse am Schluß
der 4 Stunden zeigte an, daß nur eine geringe bis gar keine Reaktion stattgefunden hatte.
Ein Reaktionsgefäß wurde mit 326,3 g (1 Mol) Triphenylphosphat in 215 g (1 Mol) n-Dodecylamin (98 % Reinheit) und 27 g (5 Gew.-JS)
Bortrifluorid in Phenol beschickt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde
4 Stunden lang bei 150°C gerührt. Das Produkt enthielt 7,0 P und 3,1 % N und besaß eine Säurezahl von 39 mg KOH/g
und eine Alkalinität von 1 mg KOH/g.
Ein 2-Liter-Reaktionskolben wurde mit 430 g (2 Mol) Kokosamin
(9655 n-Dodecylamin), 326,3 g (1 Mol) Triphenylphosphat und 37,8 g (5 Gew.-£) Bortrifluoridetherat beschickt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde auf 1500C 4 Stunden lang erhitzt und dann auf
1500C bei 5,3 mbar abgestreift und ergab 798,9 g des Produktes.
Analyse: 5,9 % P, 3,4 % N, Säurezahl 34 mg KOH/g, Alkalinität
15 mg KOH/g.

Ein 3-Liter-Kolben wurde mit 575 g Kokosamin .(96 % n-Dodecylamin)
und 750 g n-Dodecylamin (98? Reinheit) (6 Mol insgesamt),
652,8 g (2 Mol) Triphenylphosphat und 38,4 g (2 Gew.-?)
Borsäure beschickt. Das Reaktionsgeraisch wurde bei 20O0C
8 Stunden lang gerührt. Infrarotanalyse zeigte an, daß die Reaktion vollständig war. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde dann bei
2000C und 4 mbar abgestreift und ergab 1 I77 g des überkopfdestillates.
Der Rückstand wurde dann heiß durch ein Diatomeenerdekissen filtriert und ergab 734 g des Produktes. Das Produkt
enthielt 3,48 ? Stickstoff, 7,55 ? Phosphor und hatte eine Alkalinität von 67,2 mg KOH/g.
Ein 500 ml-Kolben wurde mit 163,2 g (0,5 Mol) Triphenylphosphat
und 107,5 g (0,5 Mol) Kokosamin (96 ? n-Dodecylamin) und 10,8 g (4 Gew.-?) Borsäure beschickt. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wurde bei 130°C 10 Stunden lang gerührt. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wurde dann bei 1650C und 4 mbar abgestreift und ergab 194,9 g
des Produktes.
Ein 2-Liter-Kolben wurde mit 326,3 g (1 Mol) Triphenylphosphat,
645 g (3 Mol) Kokosamin {96 % n-Dodecylamin) und 39 g (4 Gew.-?)
Borsäure beschickt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde bei 1200C
10 Stunden lang unter einer Stickstoffatmosphäre gerührt. Das
Gemisch wurde dann auf 650C bei 5,3 mbar abgestreift und ergab
571,8 g des Produktes.

Ein 1-Liter-Kolben wurde mit 108,8 g (1/3 Mol) Tripheny!phosphat,
215 g (1 Mol) Kokosamin (96 % n-Dodecylamin) und 16 g
(5 Gew.-J?) Borsäure beschickt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde unter Stickstoff bei 150°C 4 Stunden lang gerührt. Infrarotanalyse
zeigte an, daß die Reaktion nach 30 Minuten im wesentlichen beendet war. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde auf 15O°C
bei 10,6 mbar abgestreift.
Ein 1-Liter-Kolben wurde mit 326,3 g (1 Mol) Triphenylphosphat,
430 g (2 Mol) Kokosamin (96 % n-Dodecylamin) und 38 g (5 Gew.-?)
Tri-n-butylborat beschickt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde bei
120°C 10 Stunden lang und bei 1300C 5 Stunden lang gerührt.
Beispiel 8 ■
Ein 2-Liter-Kolben wurde mit 645 g (3 Mol) Kokosamin (96 %
n-Dodecylamin), 326 g (1 Mol) Triphenylphosphat und 49 g
(5 Gew.-%) Tri-n-butylborat beschickt. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wurde bei 1200C 10 Stunden lang gerührt und dann auf 150°C
bei 2,6 bis 4 mbar abgestreift. Produktanalyse: 5,3 Ϊ-Ρ,
2,9 % N, Säurezahl 86 mg KOH/g, Alkalinität 103 mg KOH/g.
Ein 3-Liter-Kolben wurde mit 967>5 g (4,5 Mol) Kokosamin
(96 % n-Dodecylamin), 489 g (1,5 Mol) Triphenylphosphat und
73,5 g (5 Gew.-?) Tri-n-butylborat beschickt. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wurde unter Stickstoff bei 120°C 7 Stunden lang gerührt und dann auf 150°C bei etwa 2,6 mbar abgestreift.

Produktanalyse: 5,4 % P, 2,3 % N, Säurezahl 79 mg KOH/g,
Alkalinität 96 mg KOH/g.
Die Analyse der Produkteder Beispiele 1 bis 9 wird in Tabelle I
wiedergegeben, die die prozentuale Verteilung der verschiedenen Amin-Phosphorverbindungen im Endprodukt zeigt. Die Struktur der
Verbindungen wurde durch Phosphor-NMR bestimmt.

Der Reibungskoeffizient eines Schmieröls, das die nach dem Verfahren der Beispiele 2, 5 und 8 hergestellten Additive
enthielt, wurde in der Kinetic Oiliness Testing Machine (KOTM), hergestellt durch G.L. Neeley of Berkeley, California, getestet.
Das in diesem Test angewandte Testverfahren wird von G.L. Neeley, Proceedings of Mid-Year Meeting, American Petroleum Institute,

(1932), S. 60-74» beschrieben. Die Reibung wurde in diesem
Test unter Grenzbedingungen gemessen mit einer Belastung von
12 MPa und einer Geschwindigkeit von 0,5 mm/Sek. Das zu testende öl war ein SAE 10W40 01, das 8,4 % eine*Polyacrylats als Viskositätsindexverbesserer
und außerdem ein übliches Polybutensuccinimid-Dispergiermittel, Zxnkdialkyldithiophosphat und
überbasisches Mägnesiumsulfonat enthielt. Die Ergebnisse
in nachstehender Tabelle II zeigen gute Verringerung des Reibungskoeffizienten bei beiden getesten Metallkombinationen
und bei allen getesteten Temperaturen.

Claims (7)

' 01, D3ZFRANKFURT AM MASN 80Patentansprüche:Verfahren zur Herstellung von Aminphosphatsalzen oder . deren Gemische mit Phosphoramiden, dadurch geke nnz ei chne t, daß man ein Triarylphosphat und ein primäres oder sekundäres aliphatisches Amin in Molverhältnis von 1:1-20 bei einer Temperatur von 100 bis 2000C 0,5 bis 30 Stunden in Gegenwart einer katalytischen Menge einer borhaltigen Verbindung, nämlich Borsäure, Trialkylborat, worin der Alkylrest 2 bis 6 C-Atome enthält, oder Bortrifluorid erhitzt unter Bildung eines Phosphatsalzes { eines Gemische aus einem kleineren Anteil Phosphoramid und einem größeren Anteil Phosphatsalz oder einem größeren Anteil Phosphoramid und einem kleineren Anteil Phosphatsalz. .
- 2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man ein Triarylphosphat der Formelverwendet, worin R ein Halogenatom oder einen Alkyl-, Alkoxy-, Nitro-, Trifluormethyl- oder Dihydroxycarbylarainorest und η 0, 1 oder 2 bedeuten,und ein aliphatisches Amin der FormelR1NR2
Hverwendet, worin R1 einen aliphatischen Rest mit 4 bis C-Atomen und R2 Wasserstoff oder einen aliphatischen Rest909824/0736mit 4 bis 18 C-Atomen bedeutet, und 1 bis 5 Gew.-? der borhaltigen Verbindung einsetzt. - 3- Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man 3 bis 5 % borhaltige Verbindung verwendet, als Trialkylborat Triethylborat, Tripropylborat, Tributylborat, Triamylborat oder Trihexylborat einsetzt und &Χλ, Molverhältnis . von Phosphat zu Amin etwa 1:2 bis 3 änwehdet.
- 4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man Verbindungen einsetzt, worin R einen Alkylrest, R einen Alkylrest mit 12 bis 18 C-Atomen und R Wasserstoff bedeuten.
- 5. Produkt, hergestellt nach dem Verfahren der Ansprüche 1, 2, 3 oder 4.
- 6. Schmierölgemisch, enthaltend ein öl mit Schmierviskosxtät und 0,01 bis 10 Gew.-% des Produktes des Anspruchs 5·
- 7. Schmierölkonzentrat, enthaltend 10 bis 90 Gew.-ί einesÖls mit Schmierviskosxtät und 90 bis 10 Gew.-% des Produktes von Anspruch 6.909824/0736
