Verfahren zur Darstellung von Monomethylamin. Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 14. Dezember 1912 ab.Process for the preparation of monomethylamine. Patented in the German Empire on December 14, 1912.
Hydrocyanic acid or ferrocyanic acid can be used with the usual reducing agents either not at all or only with great difficulty, so that the Mendius reaction (cf. Ann. 121 [1862] p. 1290., especially Pp. 139 to 142) as a technical representation process was previously out of the question for methylamine. On the other hand, there are the most common methods of preparing monomethylamine very expensive.
It has now been found that the reduction of hydrogen cyanide to methylamine then succeeds smoothly, if you do the reduction in acidic solution in the presence of colloidal metals Platinum group caused by molecular hydrogen, which could not have been foreseen because According to Bredig, hydrogen cyanide is a violent catalyst poison. A far better result but one obtains if, instead of hydrocyanic acid, one uses the far cheaper ferrocyanic acid hydrogenated in acidic solution. This observation is also surprising after Paal and Amberger (Ber. 38 [1905], p. 1404) using colloidal palladium Convert potassium ferricyanide in neutral solution into potassium ferricyanide, a further reduction but couldn't accomplish.
Die Hydrierung der Blausäure verläuft ähnlich und liefert insbesondere dann brauchbare Ausbeuten, wenn man für eine geringe Konzentration der Blausäure Sorge trägt.20 g of ferrocyanic acid are dissolved in 11 water, this solution with a for Saturation of the resulting methylamine acidified more than a sufficient amount of hydrochloric acid and after adding 0.1 g of colloidal palladium shaken with hydrogen. If the hydrogen uptake slows down too much, it is expedient to repeatedly add small amounts of colloidal palladium to the reducing liquid. About 8 liters of hydrogen were consumed. After the reaction has ended, a greenish-white precipitate and the precipitated precipitate are filtered off Palladium, makes the filtrate alkaline and distilled in a stream of steam. The passing Monomethylamine is bound to hydrochloric acid. 11.3 g of pure methylamine chlorohydrate were obtained obtain. Instead of free ferrocyanic acid, one can of course also use start from an acidified solution of potassium ferrocyanide. The hydrogenation of hydrogen cyanide proceeds in a similar way and delivers useful yields, in particular, if one for a low concentration of hydrogen cyanide takes care of it.
Die Aufarbeitung der Reduktionsflüssigkeit geschieht nach Beispiel I. Die Ausbeute an Methylaminchlorhydrat beträgt bei entsprechendem5 g of potassium cyanide are in 1000 ecm of water dissolved with the addition of 160 ecm normal hydrochloric acid and in the presence of a little colloidal Palladium shaken with hydrogen. The reduction soon comes to a standstill, but can be revitalized by repeatedly adding small amounts of colloidal palladium and carried out to the end. The processing of the reducing liquid takes place according to Example I. The yield of methylamine chlorohydrate is with the appropriate
