Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 21. Juli 1911 ab.Patented in the German Empire on July 21, 1911.
That by treating the impregnated salts of the luminous earth with alkaline reacting liquids the hydroxide gets is known, and one makes with the Representation of the rayon glow body made extensive use of this reaction (patent specifications 141244 and 199615). What are the advantages of this Conversion offers is discussed in more detail in the Chemiker-Zeitung 1911, * p. 752.
II, S. 185).When the fabric soaked with the amorphous hydroxides is incinerated, one obtains an incandescent body which has a satisfactory coherence, the gas consumption of which increases but higher than those with hydrogen peroxide ■ Post-treated stockings and additives. This disadvantage, known in specialist circles, stems from the fact that one goes through the latter process preserves higher oxides of the light earths, which have a loose skeleton leave behind. But every compression of the surface layer of a body decreases the emissivity, but every decrease in density increases it (Chwolson, Textbook of Physics 1904, Vol. II, p. 185).
The hydrogen superoxide process produces incandescent bodies, which are normal ones Consumption of gas, but their luminosity diminishes after about 300 burning hours. The reason for this is that gradually a compaction of the oxide particles by sintering occurs, whereby the light yield is adversely affected.
After many attempts, the inventor came to the conviction that these evils could be found could improve if only the cerium is transferred to the higher oxidation state. This reaction cannot be ruled out if one considers that cerium is a good oxygen carrier acts and especially as hydroxide in basic and neutral solution can easily be more highly oxidized, while the thorahydroxide is much more stable. Hydrogen peroxide is not to be thought of since this body also transfers the gate to the higher level of oxidation. However, several attempts have shown that it actually does There are solutions which oxidize the cerium to a higher degree without changing the thorahydroxide.
Bringt man z. Verwendet man z. Dies rührt von der verschiedenen BasizitätThe invention is now concerned with the solution of this problem, namely it was found that such inorganic and organic compounds are suitable, which oxygen from are able to absorb the atmosphere. Such solutions can easily be achieved by cerium oxidize if it is in a form favorable for oxidation. If you bring z. B. the fabric impregnated with the lamp earth. in a basic solution of pyrogallol, Tannin, tannic acid, or similar substances, then immediately become thore earth and cerium precipitated on the fiber, and the cerium compound is obtained in the higher oxidation state. If you use z. B. a resolution of the tannin in pyridine, the cerium compound is immediately fixed while Pyridine alone does not precipitate the cerium immediately. This is due to the different basicity
One can of course now use the base which causes the precipitation the gate earth causes, z. B. pyridine, generally add substances that also contain cerium with precipitates, i.e. oxalic acid, ammonia, hydrazines and others. m. According to the invention but not only on the precipitation, but also on the oxidation of the cerium compound Added value.
B. die Lösung des hydroschwefligen Natriums u. a. m.ίο The oxidation of the gate earth proceeds much more slowly in this way, and with a suitable method of operation no higher oxidation compounds of the gate earth are formed at all. Assuming of course, an x large excess of tannin, the partial formation of a Thor paint is not excluded on the fiber. Other solutions of an inorganic and organic nature can also absorb oxygen, e.g. B. the solution of hydrosulphurous sodium, etc.
In the bath, which contains substances that do not interfere with the usability of the mantles, if you bring the impregnated rayon fabric, either blow (even before the Post-treatment) oxygen (air) through the solution or provides the soaked tissue in the air. In practice, the oxidizing solution can act on the hydroxides let, which can also be done by a hydrolytic process without using a Sq ^ alkaline bath on the fiber. But you can also do it right from the start use a basic oxidizing solution. After the transformation and oxidation has occurred, the bodies are ready to burn after they have dried. When using a pyridine tannin bath is a Washing process unnecessary.
