Description
1515th
The invention relates to a system for processing liquid radioactive waste with an evaporator, a downstream collecting container, a screw conveyor for mixing the dewatered solid fraction of the waste with a binder and one to a landfill container leading filling device.
In a known system of this type (DE-AS 15 89 839) the liquid radioactive waste, if necessary as a pre-concentrate, fed to the evaporator together with a propellant. The vaporizer works continuously and the residual moisture from the evaporator depends accordingly Concentrate not only on the amount fed to the evaporator, but also on the liquid / Solids ratio of this amount added. As a result, can be in such a system fluctuating liquid content of the radioactive waste to be evaporated, the residual moisture of the solid content Do not set a defined setting for continuous operation. The screw conveyor will consequently Solid concentrates with different residual moisture are supplied, which are mixed with the binder and then be placed in the landfill container. - This also applies to another known system in which the Filling device for filling the radioactive waste into the landfill container directly at the « Evaporator is connected (DE-OS 23 04 961).
Otherwise it is known (»Atompraxis«, vol. 16,1970, Issue 2, pages 93 to 96) the liquids of radioactive waste or a pre-concentrate first in the To fill landfill containers and evaporate them in it. This is cumbersome and requires a considerable amount of work technical effort if a defined residual moisture is to be achieved.
The object of the invention is to improve a system of the type described above so that a simple adjustment of the residual moisture content of the dewatered radioactive waste is possible.
This object is achieved in that between the collecting container and the screw conveyor a designed as a centrifuge or decanter mechanical dewatering device is arranged, the drain for the liquid part returns to the evaporator.
This has the advantage that the evaporator is only used to thicken the liquid radioactive Waste needs to be used, with the goods treated in the evaporator even after leaving the evaporator does not have to have a constant liquid content or constant humidity. the This is because dewatering down to a predetermined residual moisture content takes place in the downstream centrifuge or in the downstream decanter, with the dehydrated material passing through the centrifuge or the decanter even then leaves with a residual moisture that can be precisely adjusted via the operating parameters of this device, when the material is fed to the device with different moisture contents or also discontinuously will. Since the portion of liquid withdrawn from the centrifuge or decanter is returned to the Evaporator is returned, so far no further problems arise.
In the following an embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to a drawing. The only Figure shows a schematic representation of a plant for the disposal of liquid, radioactive waste z. B. from nuclear power plants.
The system shown in the figure initially includes an evaporator 1, then one with the Evaporator 1 downstream collecting container 2 with an associated device 3 for filling the radioactive waste 4 in the landfill container 5.
Between the collecting tank 2 and the device 3 for filling in the dehydrated solids content the radioactive waste 4 in the landfill container 5 is a mechanical drainage device 6 arranged continuously or discontinuously operating centrifuge or a decanter. The drain line 7 for the liquid portion leads from the mechanical de-watering device 6 into the evaporator 1 return. A discharge pipe 8 for the solids content leads indirectly via a special mixing device a landfill container 5.
The mechanical dewatering device 6 is driven by a drive motor 11. The concentrate enters this mechanical drainage device 6 through the inlet pipe 12. The clarified water runs through the discharge pipe 13 back to the evaporator 1. At the opening 14 to which the exhaust pipe 8 is attached is, the solids portion 9 is discharged. The mechanical drainage device 6 can be gas-tight designed to prevent aerosols from escaping. You can also use a cooling device be provided to prevent the precipitation of dissolved salts when processing heated, liquid radioactive To facilitate concentrates.
The solid fraction 9 falls through the pipe 21 into a screw conveyor provided with an inlet funnel 22 23. This conveys the solid fraction 9 to the pump 24. Both units are via a common shaft 25 driven by the drive motor 11. The inlet area of the screw conveyor 23 can be provided with a gas-tight encapsulation 26. Also in the screw conveyor 23 the solidifying agent 15, which is located in the container 27, is added via a valve 28. the Type of solidifying agent 15 depends on the composition of the solid fraction 9, e.g. B. after its residual moisture. In any case, the solidifying agent 15 is adjusted so that a type of paste is formed which Funded via the pump 24 shown, the pipeline 29 and the immersion pipe 30 in the landfill container 5 will. The dip tube 30 ensures that no cavities are formed in the landfill container 5. Of the Landfill container 5 is vented via a line 3 <and a filter unit 32. The landfill container 5 can are already in a shield 20, which is designed as a transport container.
