Die Erfindung betrifft neue N-Carbatnoyl- und N-Alkoxycarbonyl-diazacycloheptane,
die als Stabilisatoren für Polymere verwendet werden können.
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind Verbindungen der Formel I

und Salze davon, worin η 1 oder 2 ist, X 0 oder NH ist, Y 0*,
Wasserstoff oder verzweigtes oder geradkettiges Alkyl mit 1-4 C-Atomen und R, ein Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 1-20 C-Atomen
ist.
Beispiele für Y sind neben Wasserstoff und 0' Methyl, Aethyl, n-Propyl, η-Butyl und sec-Butyl, bevorzugt
sind Wasserstoff und Methyl.
Bevorzugt sind Verbindungen der Formel I mit der Formel IA

oder Alkaryl mit 7-18 C-Atomen ist, und für η gleich 2 R2 verzweigtes oder geradkettiges Alkylen mit 2-20 C-Atomen,
Alkenylen mit 4-20 C-Atomen, substituiertes oder unsubstituiertes Cycloalkylen mit 5-12 C-Atomen, substituiertes
oder unsubstituiertes Arylen mit 6-12 C-Atomen oder Alkarylen mit 7-18 C-Atomen ist. Substituenten solcher aromatischen
Reste R2 können Halogen oder Niederalkoxy sein.

Bevorzugte einwertige Reste R2 in den N-Carbatnoyl-Verbindungen
IA sind Alkyl, wie Methyl, Aethyl, n-Propyl, Isopropyl, sec-Butyl, 2-Aethylhexyl, n-Dodecyl und n-Octadecyl,
Aryl, insbesondere Phenyl und Alkaryl besonders mit 7-12 C-Atomen.
Beispiele für R2 bei η gleich 2 sind 1,2-Aethylen,
1,4-n-Butylen, 1,6-n-Hexylen, 2,2,4-Tritnethyl-l,6-n-hexylen,
1,10-n-Decylen, 1,20-n-Eicosylen, 1,4-n-Butenylen, 1,10-n-Decenylen,
1,20-n-Eicosenylen, 1,3- oder 1,4-Cyclohexylen,
1,6-Cyclododecylen, S-Methylen^^S-trimethyl-cyclohex-lylen,
1,3- oder 1,4-Phenylen, 1,5-Naphthylen, 4,4'-Biphenyl,
2,4-Tolylen, 4,4'-Diphenylenmethan oder 4,4'-Diphenylen-1",

Bevorzugt ist R2 bei η gleich 2 Alkylen mit 2-6
C-Atomen, Cycloalkylen mit 6-12 C-Atomen und Alkarylen mit 7-13 C-Atomen.
In zweiter Linie bevorzugt sind von Verbindungen der Formel I solche der Formel IB

verzweigtes oder geradkettiges Alkyl mit 1-20 C-Atomen oder substituiertes oder unsubstituiertes Aralkyl mit 7-12 C-Atomen

C-Atomen oder Aralkylen mit 8-14 C-Atomen ist. Substituenten solcher aromatischen Reste Ro können Halogen, Niederalkyl
oder Niederalkoxy sein.
Mit "nieder" ist in dieser Beschreibung für Alkyl oder Alkoxy solches mit 1-4 C-Atomen gemeint.
Beispiele für R- bei η gleich 1 sind Methyl, Aethyl,
n-Propyl, Isopropyl, η-Butyl, sec-Butyl, t-Butyl, n-Pentyl,
2-Aethylpentyl, 2-Methylpentyl, n-Octyl, 2,2,4-Trimethylpentyl,

Die Reaktion wird geeignet in einem Lösungsmittel durchgeführt, das inert gegenüber den Reaktanten ist, z.B.
Benzol, Toluol oder Cyclohexan. Die Reaktion wird bei der Rückflusstemperatür der Mischung durchgeführt, oder bei tieferer
Temperatur, falls erwünscht. Diese Reaktion kann auch in Gegenwart von Natriumcarbonat bei der Rückflusstemperatur
der Mischung oder bei tieferer Temperatur durchgeführt werden.
Die Erfindung betrifft in zweiter Linie ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Verbindung der Formel I mit X gleich
0, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man in einem gegenüber den Reaktanten inerten Lösungsmittel eine Verbindung der Formel
IV, getnäss oben, mit einem Alkohol R,OH oder Diol HO-R, -OH
oder einem Alkalisalz davon umsetzt, worin R-. obige Bedeutung hat.
Die Erfindung betrifft auch ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Verbindung der Formel I mit Y ungleich Wasserstoff,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man eine entsprechende Verbindung der Formel I mit Y gleich Wasserstoff mit einer
Verbindung umsetzt, die den Wasserstoff am N-Atom durch Y ersetzen kann.
Z.B. kann die N-Substitutionsreaktion mit einem
Alkylierungsmittel, wie einem Alkylhalid, durchgeführt werden.
Alternativ kann die N-Substitutionsreaktion durch eine Leuckart- oder Wallach-Reaktion mit Ameisensäure und
dem entsprechenden Aldehyd oder Keton durchgeführt werden* Z.B. kann die entsprechende NH-Verbindung mit Ameisensäure

und Formaldehyd zur N-MethyI-Verbindung umgesetzt werden.
Zur Herstellung einer Verbindung der Formel I mit Y gleich 0' wird eine entsprechendeVerbindung der Formel I
mit Y gleich Wasserstoff mit einem Peroxid, wie Wasserstoffperoxid, oxidiert, gegebenenfalls in Gegenwart von Perwolf
ramsäure, oder mit einer Persäure, wie Perameisensäure oder PeressigsMure. Gemäss einer Modifikation der Oxidationsreaktion kann das Ausgangsmaterial eine entsprechende N-Niederalkyl-Verbindung
anstelle der NH-Verbindung der Formel I sein.
Die Verbindungen der Formel II sind bekannt und können nach der Methode von Dickermann und Lindwall, J.Org.
Chem. 14, 530 (1949) hergestellt werden.
Die Erfindung betrifft ferner eine Mischung aus einem organischen Material und als Stabilisator, einer kleineren
Menge einer Verbindung der Formel I gemäss oben.
Verbindungen der Formel I geben Polyolefinen ein aussergewöhnlich hohes Mass an Stabilität gegenüber Zersetzung
durch UV-Bestrahlung oder Hitze. Zudem wird diese Verbesserung der Stabilität erreicht, ohne die Farbeigenschaften
der behandelten Polyolefine zu beeinträchtigen. Die erfindungsgemässen Stabilisatoren geben insbesondere
eine wirksame Licht und/oder Hitze-Stabilisation für niedrig- und hoch-dichtes Polyäthylen und Polypropylen und Polystyrol
sowie für Polymere von Buten-1, Penten-1, 3-Methylbuten-l,
Hexen-1, 4-Methylpenten-l, 4-Methylhexen-l und 4,4-Dimethylpenten-1, sowie für Co- und Ter-polymere von Olefinen, insbesondere von Aethylen oder Propylen.
Andere organische Stoffe, die einer Licht·'Zersetzung unterliegen und deren Eigenschaften durch Einarbeiten einer Verbindung der Formel I verbessert werden, sind
natürliche und synthetische Polymere, z.B. natürlicher oder

synthetischer Gummi, letzterer einschliesslich z.B. Homo-, Co- und Terpolymere von Acrylnitril, Butadien und Styrol.
Spezifische synthetische Polymere sind Polyvinylchlorid und Vinylchlorid-Co-polymere, Polyvinylacetat sowie
Kondensationspolymere abgeleitet von Aether, Ester- (abgeleitet von Carbonsäuren, Sulphonsäuren oder Kohlensäure),
Amid- oder Ure than-Verb indungen, Polyvinylacetat, Polyacrylate
wie Polymere und Copolymere von Methylacrylat,
Aethylacrylat, Methylmethacrylat und Aethylmethacrylat,
Polyamide, Harnstoff-Formaldehyd und Melamin-Formaldehyd-Harze, Cellulose-Kunststoffe, wie Celluloseacetat, Cellulose-butyrat
und Cellulose-nitrat. Einige dieser Polymeren können z.B. die Grundlage von Oberflächenüberzügen sein,
wie Farben und Lacke mit OeI- oder Harz-Basis, wie ein .
Alkyd- oder Polyamid-Harz.
Die Menge an der Verbindung der Formel I, die in das organische Material eingearbeitet wird, um maximalen
Schutz gegen Lichtabbau.zu erzielen, variiert entsprechend
den Eigenschaften des zu behandelnden organischen Materials und entsprechend der Intensität der Lichteinwirkung und deren
Dauer. Für die meisten Anwendungen ist es jedoch ausreichend, die Verbindung der Formel I in Mengen von 0,01%-5%
(Gewicht, bezogen auf das Gewicht von unbehandeltem organischem Material ) zu verwenden.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I können in das polymere Material mittels beliebiger bekannter Methoden zum
Compoundieren von Additiven mit einem Polymer eingearbeitet werden.'Z.B. können die Verbindung der Formel I und das Poly
mer in einem Intensivmischer compoundiert werden. Alternativ .kann die Verbindung der Formel I als Lösung oder Aufschlämmung
in einem geeigneten Lösungs- oder Dispergiermittel, z.B. einem inerten organischen Lösungsmittel, wie

Methanol, Aethanol oder Aceton, zu pulverfb'rmigem Polymer
gegeben werden, worauf das ganze intensiv in einem Mischer gemischt wird. Anschliessend wird das Lösungsmittel entfernt.
Als weitere Alternative kann die Verbindung der Formel I zu dem Polymer während dessen Herstellung gegeben werden, z.B.
im Latex-Zustand in der Polymer-Produktion, um vorstabilisiertes Polymer zu erhalten.
Wenn erwünscht kann die erfindungsgemässe Mischung ein oder mehrere weitere Additive enthalten, besonders solche,
die in Polymer-Formulierungen verwendet werden, wie Antioxidantien vom Phenol- oder Amin-Typ, U.V. Absorber und
Lichtschutzmittel, Phosphit-Stabilisatoren, Peroxid-Zersetzer, Polyamid-Stabilisatoren, basische'Co-Stabilisatoren,
Polyvinyl-chlorid-Stabilisatoren, Nukleiermittel, Weichmacher, Schmiermittel, Emulgatoren, Anti-Statika, Flammschutzmittel,
Pigmente, Russ, Asbest, Glassfasern, Kaolin und Talk.
Die Erfindung betrifft damit auch binäre, tertiäre und Multi-Komponenten-Mischungen enthaltend als Stabilisator,
eine Verbindung der Formel I zusammen mit einem oder mehreren funktioneilen Additiv für Polymere.

in 250 Teilen Benzol mit einer katalytischen Menge 1,4-Diazabicyclo
[2.2.2]octan erhitzt. Nach Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels im
Vakuum wird das Produkt in 200 Teilen Wasser 18 Stunden gerührt. Die wässrige Lösung wird sorgfältig mit Chloroform extrahiert.
Trocknen und Eindampfen der organischen Phase ergibt 20 Teile eines farblosen Feststoffs. Kristallisation aus Aethyl-acetat
gibt 4-Methylcarbamoyl-2,2,7,7-tetramethy1-1,4-diazacycloheptan-5-on.

38 Teile Polypropylen werden mit 0.076 Teilen n-Octadecyl-ß-(41^-hydroxy-3
' ,5 '-di-t-butylphenyl)-propionat in einer Knetmaschine 3 Minuten bei 2000C homogenisiert. 0,19 Teile des
Produktes von Beispiel 7 werden zugegeben und weitere 1 Minuten homogenisiert.
Die Mischung wird zu Filmen von 0.1 mm Dicke bei 26O°C 6 Minuten
pressgeformt. Die so erhaltenen Filme werden in kaltem Wasser
abgeschreckt.

Aus der 0.1 mm Folie wird ein 44 χ 100 mm Stück entnommen und
in eine "Xenotest 150"-Belichtungseinheit gebracht.
Die belichtete Probe wird periodisch untersucht und Teile davon wurden getestet auf %-Bruchdehnung, wobei die Zeit (T), bei
der die Probe 507o der ursprünglichen Bruchdehnung erreicht hat, notiert wird.
Gleiche Tests werden mit Polypropylen-Proben durchgeführt, die
jeweils keinen Stabilisator bzw. die Produkte der Beispiele 1, 4 und 12 enthalten. Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle
zusammengestellt.

gereinigt wird, einem roten Feststoff, F. 112° - 114°C.

- Patentansprücheund deren Salze, worin η 1 oder 2 ist, X 0 oder NH ist, Y
O, Wasserstoff oder verzweigtes oder geradkettiges Alkyl mit 1-4 C-Atomen ist, und R-. ein Kohlenwassers to ff rest mit 1-20 C-Atomen ist.2. Verbindung nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass η 2 ist und R0 Alkylen mit 2-6 C-Atomen, Cycloalkylen mit 6-12 C-Atomen oder Alkarylen mit 7-13 C-Atomen ist.Verbindung nach Anspruch 1 der FormelCO-C-*nworin Y und η wie in Anspruch 1 definiert sind und, wenn η 1 ist, Ro verzweigtes oder geradkettiges Alkyl mit 1-20 C-Atomen oder Aralkyl mit 7-12 C-Atomen ist, das unsubstituiert oder durch Halogen, Alkyl mit 1 - 4 C-Atomen oder Alkoxy mit 1-4 C-Atomen substituiert ist.7. Verbindung nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass, wenn η 2 ist, R3 Alkylen mit 2-20 C-Atomen oder Aralkylen509807/1186mit 8-14 C-Atomen ist.8. Verbindung nach den Ansprüchen 1 - 9 in Form eines Phosphats, Carbonate, Sulphate, Chlorids, Acetats, Stearats, Maleats, Citrats, Tartrats, Oxalats, Benzoats oder substituierten Carbamate.11. Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Verbindung der Formel I nach Anspruch 1, worin X NH ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein l,4-Diazacycloheptan-5-on der FormelNHvH2I3 τιCH,,J N *mit Y wie in Anspruch 1 definiert, mit einem Isocyanat der FormelR1(NCO)n
mit R1 und ή wie in Anspruch 1 definiert, umsetzt.CH2 CH2509807/118612. Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Verbindung der Formel 1 nach Anspruch 1, worin X NH ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man eine Verbindung der Formel II gemäss Anspruch 11 mit Phosgen zu einer Verbindung der Formelο O(wa^2 U ivumsetzt, worin Y wie in Anspruch Γ definiert ist, und dann die Verbindung IV mit einem Amin R-, (NH^) , mit R, und η gemäss Anspruch 1, umsetzt.13. Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Verbindung der Formel I nach Anspruch 1, worin X 0 und η 1 ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein l,4-Diazacycloheptan-5-on der Formel II nach Anspruch 11 mit einem Chlorformiat der FormelCl-CX)-OR1umsetzt, worin R, wie in Anspruch 1 definiert ist,14. Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Verbindung der Formel I nach Anspruch 1, worin X 0 ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man in einem gegenüber den Reaktanten inerten Lösungsmittel eine Verbindung der Formel IV nach Anspruch 12 mit einem Alkohol R,OH oder einem Diol HO-R,-OH (oder einem Alkalisalz davon) umsetzt, worin R^ wie in Anspruch 1 definiert ist.509807/118615. Verfahren zur Herstellung der Formel I nach Anspruch 1, worin Y ungleich Wasserstoff ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man eine Verbindung der Formel I mit Y gleich Wasserstoff mit einer Verbindung umsetzt, die das Wasserstoffatom am N-Atom durch Y ersetzen kann.16. Verfahren nach Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Verbindung, die Y einführen kann, ein Alkylierungsmittel ist.17. Verfahren nach Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Y einführende Verbindung Ameisensäure zusammen mit einem geeigneten Aldehyd oder Keton ist.18. Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Verbindung der Formel I nach Anspruch 1, worin Y O ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man die entsprechende Verbindung der Formel I mit Y gleich H mit einem Peroxid, gegebenenfalls in Anwesenheit von Perwolframsäure oder mit einer Persäure oxidiert.19. Mischung aus einem organischen Material und als Stabilisator einer geringen Menge einer Verbinung der Formel I nach Anspruch 1.20. Mischung nach Anspruch 19, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das organische Material niedrig- oder hochdichtes Polyäthylen oder Polypropylen, Polystyrol, ein Polymer von Buten-1, Penten-1, 3-Methylbuten-l, Hexen-1, 4-Methylpenten-l, 4-Methylhexen-1, 4,4-Dimethylpenten-l oder ein Co- oder Terpolymer von Aethylen oder Propylen ist.509807/118621. Mischung nach Anspruch 19 oder 20, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das organische Material ein natürliches oder
synthetisches Polymer ist.22. Mischung nach Anspruch 21, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das synthetische Polymer Polyvinylchlorid, Polyvinylidenchlorid, ein Vinylchlorid-Copolymer, Polyvinylacetat oder ein Kondensationspolymer eines Aethers, Esters (abgeleitet von
Carbon-, Sulphon- oder Kohlensäuren), Amids oder Urethans ist.23. Mischung nach einem der Ansprüche 19 - 22, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Menge der Verbindung der Formel I
von 0.17o - TL (Gewicht, bezogen auf das Gewicht des unbehandelten organischen Materials) beträgt.24. Mischung nach einem der Ansprüche 19 - 23, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie eine binäre, tertiäre oder Multikomponenten-Mischung ist, die als Stabilisator eine Verbindung der Formel I aa^h Anspruch 1 zusammen mit einem oder mehreren funktionalen Additiven für Polymere enthält.25. Mischung nach Anspruch 24, dadurch gekennzeichnet,. ■■■■** dass das funktionale Additiv ein Antioxidant vom Phenol- oder Amin-Typ, ein U.V.-Absorber oder-Lichtschutzmittel, ein Phosphitstabilisator, ein Peroxidzersetzer, ein Polyamidstabilisator, ein basischer Costabilisator, ein Polyvinylchloridstabilisator, ein Nukleiermittel, ein Weichmacher, ein Schmiermittel, ein
Emulgator, ein Antistaticum, ein Flammschutzmittel, ein Pigment, Russ, Asbest, Glasfasern, Kaolin oder Talk ist.26. Mischung nach Anspruch 21, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
