Die Schraubenbremse ist in Anwendung auf ein Fördergestell dargestellt. Die Förderschale A ist an dem Tragseil mittelst des Bolzens B und der Feder C elastisch aufgehängt. An seinem unteren Ende ist dieser Bolzen B durch zwei Zugstangen α mit zwei Reibrädern d gelenkartig verbunden, die auf je einer mit Rechts- und Linksgewinde versehenen Spindel e befestigt sind. Diese Spindeln sind in zwei Schlitzen m des Fördergestelles geführt und haben auf beiden Seiten die Muttern f, welche mit ihren Zapfen g in die schrägen oder gebogenen Schlitze i der die Bremsbacken k tragenden Schienen h eingreifen. Beim Drehen der Reibräder d werden die Bremsbacken k fest gegen die Leitungsbäume L geprefst und somit die Schale selbst stark gebremst.The screw brake is shown in use on a conveyor frame. Mit diesen zugleich werden aber auch durch den Zapfen g die Schienen h in derselben Richtung bewegt und damit auch die Bremsbacken k gegen die Leitungsbäume L geprefst, wodurch sofort eine kräftige Bremsung des Fördergestelles herbeigeführt wird. Um die Bremse in möglichst kurzer Zeit nach dem Bruche des Seiles oder der Kette wirksam zu machen, sind ' die Schlitze i der Schienen h schräg angeordnet oder auch bogenförmig gestaltet, wodurch erreicht wird, dafs gleich beim Auseinandergehen der Stangen α eine Bewegung der Bremsbacken k gegen die Leitungsbäume L eintritt und nur eine geringe Bewegung der Reibräder d erforderlich ist, um die Backen fest anzupressen.If the suspension cable breaks, the tension rods α are pressed out of one another by the spring and consequently the friction wheels d are pressed outwards against the line trees.
