Verfahren zur Herstellung von reinem Lac-dye. Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 25. November 1908 ab. Process for the production of pure lac-dye. Patented in the German Empire on November 25, 1908.
Diese Kuchen sind in hohem Grade unrein, da sie eine große Menge von Schellack und WachsThe present invention relates to a method for the preparation of pure Lac-dye made from stick lacquer or other raw material containing shellac. Lac-dye is currently by washing the stick varnish, collecting the sediment of the washing liquid and pressing get this sediment into cake. These cakes are highly unclean as they are a large amount of shellac and wax
The dye is present as a mineral lacquer and is only sparingly soluble in water. It is extremely difficult to make any pure dye from this source, and for this reason Schmidt (see reports of the German Chemical Society XX [1], 1887, p. 1285) only a very low yield of crystallized dye obtained from the dye on the market and also found it almost impossible to obtain the To keep the dye free from mineral components.
It is known that the pure dye is soluble in alkalis. But if you have the An attempt is made to obtain the dye by means of alkali from stick lacquer or the dye of the trade To extract, so much shellac dissolves with the dye that it separates cannot be executed.
It is also known that the pure dye is soluble in solvents such as alcohol is, and it has been concluded that such solvents, which also shellac dissolve, cannot serve to separate this body from the dye.
It has now been established that what has to do with the behavior of the pure dye applies to alcohol and acetone, does not apply to the dye in the Form which it possesses in stick lacquer; because when stick varnish is treated with solvents which are capable of dissolving shellac and wax, the amount of dye which passes into the solution, insignificant. The invention therefore consists in the dar position of pure lac-dye by extracting the shellac and wax from stick lacquer by means of a suitable solvent such as hot alcohol or acetone and treatment of the residue with an alkaline solution. The lac-dye dissolves these at the same time with foreign bodies, some of which are resinous in nature; when acid is added, an impure dye is precipitated, which is pure by corresponding Repeat treatment can be obtained. The acidic liquid resulting from this treatment can directly be used as dye liquor, which brought to any strength up to saturation can be. There will be different nuances according to the acid used in each case or get stain. By this method it is also possible to approximate the dye pure form as sediment or residue from the solution, which is obtained by acidifying the sodium carbonate solution and FiI-
