Zusatz zum Patente 205770 vom 31. August 1907.*)Addendum to patent 205770 of August 31, 1907. *)
Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 15. Februar 1910 ab. Längste Dauer: 30. August 1922.Patented in the German Empire on February 15, 1910. Longest duration: August 30, 1922.
In patent 226519, addendum to patent 205770, it is stated that by adding Paraffin, phenol, etc. the coagulation of the tar or that consisting of oil and tar Mixture is interrupted in order to delay the final formation of the tar or oil rubber and to keep it thin for a short time so that it is floating freely Fiber can be added. 'The addition of paraffin etc. now keeps the tar or. Oil rubber is liquid and protects it from decomposition due to the liquefaction temperature, but the process is flawed in that on the one hand it is relatively small Quantities of tar or oil rubber must be worked because this only remains thin for a short time and, on the other hand, the post-vulcanization and the homogenization of the ■ mass must be carried out very carefully, because the tar or oil rubber is very sensitive to the higher levels to be used here and long-term temperatures.
These shortcomings are remedied if, instead of the above-mentioned additions, viz Paraffin, phenol, etc., which are known to be ingredients of the tar oil, the tar oil itself or its composition equivalent Mixtures that add oils before curdling. The tar obtained in this way or Oil rubber remains liquid for a long time and also decomposes at higher temperatures not during the post-vulcanization and homogenization of the mass.
