Description
The invention relates to a method according to * 5 the preamble of claim 1.
The polyamide has recently found its way into all fields of technology as a replacement for metals found. It has excellent mechanical properties and can therefore also be used with relatively large mechanical loads are used with advantage as a substitute for metals, in particular as a substitute for steel The particular advantage is the greatly reduced weight. Despite the good properties and the ever increasing need for the use of polyamide moldings. the stake so far not possible in some areas because of the polar structure of the polyamide acids, bases and Salt solutions as well as a number of strongly polar organic compounds swelling and dissolving on the Act polyamide and destroy the same accordingly, so that so constructed molded parts, such as For example, wheels and containers cannot be used in such media. The polyamide also has the disadvantage that, depending on the structure of the monomer used, a more or there is less tendency to absorb water. The admission of water has a softening effect on the Structure of the polyamide and influences its dimensional stability For this reason too, polyamide can be used for certain moldings are therefore not used.
The invention is based on the object of specifying a method by means of which polyamide against Media, which have a swelling and dissolving effect, can be protected, which has a water intake of the Polyamide prevents and can be used universally by means of its polyamide moldings. This task is achieved according to the invention with a method of the type described in that the Molded body is first coated with a layer of a curable polyurethane resin and that then on the not yet fully cured polyurethane resin a layer of polyvinylidene fluoride is applied. The advantage of the invention can be seen in the fact that the outer polyvinylidene fluoride layer Molded body is chemically resistant and also relatively high temperatures without deformation or softening endures. Thanks to the intermediate layer made of polyurethane resin, which itself is a protective layer for the Is polyamide, the polyvinylidene fluoride layer is firmly bonded to the polyamide. The good mechanical ones Properties of the polyamide are thus in a simple manner without great manufacturing effort for almost all areas of application won.
In the following, the method according to the invention is explained in more detail with reference to implementation examples:
The polyurethane resin can be applied to the polyamide surface, for example, by dipping, spraying or brushing. It has proven to be expedient to heat-treat the polyamide before the application of the polyurethane resin layer, since this increases the adhesive strength of the polyurethane resin layer on the polyamide. Depending on the size of the mold parts a short time annealing at 200 0 C or a longer annealing at about 120 ° C is applied. It is also advantageous for carrying out the method according to the invention, when the polyamide is kept prior to applying the polyurethane resin layer is still at a temperature of about 30 to 6O 0 C. In order to prevent the initially liquid polyurethane resin from flowing off, the polyamide molded parts treated in this way can be set in rotation. It is also possible to add an accelerator which serves to accelerate curing to the polyurethane resin.
After the polyurethane resin layer has been applied to the molded polyamide body and after the layer is almost cured, the polyvinylidene fluoride is applied in the form of a dispersion or a solution. The polyurethane resin layer should not be fully cured so that it can adhere better to the Polyvinylidenfluoride still shows a slight tendency to stick. After evaporation of the solvent the polyvinylidene fluoride is baked at a temperature of at least 230 ° C. Here must be on care must be taken that the molded parts are not exposed to this high temperature for too long, because here the The softening temperature of most polyamides has already been exceeded and there is therefore a change in shape could come.
Through the outer protective layer made of polyvinylidene fluoride result from the invention moldings, which against almost all acids, bases and Salt solutions are insensitive. The access of water to the polyamide is also in accordance with the protection Prevents the invention, so that moldings result, all of the good mechanical properties of the Have polyamides and are protected against almost all aggressive media.
The method according to the invention is explained below with reference to the drawings, for example.
