Abstract
Description
Process for protecting a molded body made of polyamide against aggressive Media and water The invention relates to a method which is used for this to protect molded articles made of polyanide against aggressive media and water.
The polyamide has been used in all fields of technology lately found entry as a substitute for metals. Is has excellent mechanical properties and can therefore not be used as an advantage even with relatively high mechanical loads Substitutes for metals, in particular as a substitute for steel, are used, with the particular advantage lies in the greatly reduced weight. Despite the good ones Properties and the inner growing need for the use of polyamide moldings the Binsatz is not possible in some areas so far, because it makes the polar Structure of the polyamide acids, bases and salt solutions as well as a number of strongly polar ones organic compounds swelling and dissolving act on the polyamide and the same destroy accordingly, so that so constructed molded parts, such as wheels and containers, cannot be used in such media. The polyamide has beyond that the disadvantage that depending on the structure of the The monomers used have a greater or lesser tendency to absorb water. The admission of water has a softening effect on the structure of the polyamide and has an influence its dimensional accuracy, also for this reason, polyamide can be used for certain moldings therefore cannot be used.
The invention is based on the object of specifying a method by means of its polyamide protected against media that have a swelling and dissolving effect can be, which prevents water absorption of the polyamide and by means of it Polyamide moldings can be used universally. This object is achieved according to the invention solved with a method of the type described in that the shaped body is first coated with a layer of a curable polyurethane resin and then a layer on the not yet fully cured polyurethane resin Polyvinylidene fluoride is applied. The advantage of the invention can be seen in that the molded body is chemically resistant due to the outer polyvinylidene fluoride layer and can withstand relatively high temperatures without deformation or softening. Through the intermediate layer made of polyurethane resin, which itself has a protective layer for the polyamide, the polyvinylidene fluoride layer is solid with the polyamide tied together. The good mechanical properties of the polyamide are thus easy Way obtained without great manufacturing effort for almost all areas of linsat.
In the following, the method according to the invention is illustrated by means of implementation examples explained in more detail: The application of the polyurethane resin to the Polyaride surface can, for example, by dipping, spraying or by Brushing done. = s has proven to be useful, the polyamide before the Tempering the application of the polyurethane resin layer, as this increases the adhesive strength the polyurethane resin layer on the polyamide is increased. Depending on the size of the molded parts short-term annealing at 200 ° C or longer annealing at around 1200 C applied.
It is also advantageous for the implementation of the invention Procedure if the polyamide is still before the application of the polyurethane resin layer is held at a temperature of about 30 to 604 e. To a drain of the sun next Polyamide moldings treated in this way can avoid liquid polyurethane resin be set in rotation. It is also possible to use the polyurethane resin to add accelerators serving for faster curing.
After the polyurethane resin layer has been applied to the molded polyamide body and after the layer is nearly cured, the polyvinylidene fluoride is in Applied in the form of a dispersion or a solution. The polyurethane resin layer should not yet be fully cured, so that it adheres better to the Polyvinylidene fluoride still shows a slight tendency to stick. Do the vaporizing of the solvent is the polyvinylidene fluoride at a temperature of at least Burned in at 2300 C.
Care must be taken that the molded parts do not last too long exposed to this high temperature, as this is the softening temperature of the most polyamides has already been exceeded and changes in shape therefore occur could.
Due to the outer protective layer made of polyvinylidene fluoride, I by the invention molded body, which against almost all acids, bases and Salt solutions are insensitive. The access of water to the polyamide is also possible prevented by the protection buttocks of the invention, so that moldings result, all of which have good mechanical properties of the polyamide and against almost all aggressive media are protected.
The method according to the invention is described below with reference to the drawings for example explained.
Fig. 1 shows a section through any molded body made of polyamide and FIG. 2 schematically shows an arrangement for carrying out the method according to FIG reproduced the invention.
Mit 1 ist ein aus Polyamid bestehender Formkörper, beispielsweise ein Rad, bezeichnet, welcher von einer ausgehärteten Schicht 2 aus einem Polyurethan-Harz umgeben ist.1 is a molded body made of polyamide, for example a wheel, denoted, which is made of a hardened layer 2 of a polyurethane resin is surrounded.
Over the polyurethane resin is an outer layer 3 made of polyvinylidene fluoride appropriate.
To carry out the method according to the invention, the shaped body 1 first in the device 4, for example by dipping with the polyurethane resin layer 2 surrounded, which then in the device 9, for example by heat supply is brought to harden. Before the end of the curing process, the shaped body arrives then into the device 6, in which polyvinylidene fluoride in a dispersion or Solution is included and in which the Layer 3 is applied. The molded body is then placed in an oven 7 in which the polyvinylidene fluoride is burned in.
