Hierzu besitzt der Kompensator eine Kegelöffnung, in welche unter Ausbildung eines Spaltes ein Kegel ragt. Der Kegel kann in Achsrichtung verstellt werden, um die Spaltweite einzustellen. Erfindungsgemäß erfolgt die Verstellung der Spaltweite durch ein durch das Auslassrohr zugängliches Einstellglied. Wird das Auslassrohr von einer Mischtülle überfangen, so ist das Einstellglied dann nicht zugänglich, wenn die Mischtülle eine entsprechende Länge aufweist oder das Einstellglied von einem abgewinkelten Abschnitt der Tülle verborgen ist. Der Kegel wird vorzugsweise von einem Kompensationskörper ausgebildet, der in einer Kammer, die die Kegelöffnung ausbildet, verschiebbar gelagert ist. An den Kegel des Kompensationskörpers kann sich ein spitzwinkliger Kegelstumpf anschließen. Dieser Kegelstumpf lagert in einem zylindrischen Abschnitt der Kammer.
