Description

The invention relates to a bicycle according to the preamble of claim 1.

A bicycle of the type mentioned is generally known, so that no special printed evidence is required in this regard. Such a bicycle consists of a bicycle frame, a handlebar mounted on the bicycle frame for determining the direction of travel for a driver, a saddle attached to the bicycle frame for the driver and a front luggage rack attached to the bicycle frame, the handlebar being arranged between the front luggage rack and the saddle. Front luggage racks are often provided in addition to the usual luggage racks above the rear axle, in particular on bicycles with which larger loads are to be transported with the best possible load distribution at the same time. Such front racks are known to be either rigidly connected to the bicycle frame or pivoted to the bicycle frame via the handlebars, the handlebar stem or the fork of the front wheel with the bicycle frame. The relevant stipulation “fixed” used above includes both options here and in the following, unless otherwise stated.

The object of the invention is to improve a bicycle of the type mentioned at the outset. In particular, a bicycle having a front luggage rack is to be created with rain protection that is as easy as possible to handle but is nevertheless effective.

This object is achieved with a bicycle of the type mentioned by the features listed in the characterizing part of claim 1.

According to the invention, it is therefore provided that a rain protection for the driver's legs, which can be folded out as far as the saddle if necessary, is arranged on the front luggage carrier.

In other words, the solution according to the invention is characterized in that a rain protection that is positioned at a favorable height on the bicycle and is easily accessible is provided.

The stipulation used in protection claim 1 that the handlebars are arranged between the front luggage carrier and the saddle means that the front luggage carrier (seen in the direction of travel) is at least partially arranged in front of the handlebars.

The requirement that the rain protection can be folded out as far as the saddle also means that it can be folded out at least as far as the saddle, but possibly also further, for example to the hips or stomach of the rider.

In all of this, it is finally particularly preferred that the rain protection 5 is formed from a waterproof material and/or from an easily foldable, preferably textile, material.
