Description
The invention is in the field of aquarium equipment. In particular, the invention relates to an aquarium equipment and an aquarium equipped with such an aquarium equipment.
Modern aquariums are complex technical systems. The objective of the operation of an aquarium is to provide the inhabitants of the aquarium, e.g. Fishing to provide a largely natural and pleasant living environment. On the one hand, an often complex water treatment is operated, in which water is pumped out of the aquarium, processed and returned to the aquarium. On the other hand, aquariums are sometimes elaborately equipped, with soils such. Sand or stone floors, plants and other aquarium equipment are used. So far, many aquariums have been equipped with coral skeletons, among others. However, as coral extinctions have progressed, acceptance of the use of aquarium coral skeletons has diminished, the availability of coral skeletons has declined, and the legal framework for the import and trade of coral skeletons has been significantly tightened.
Accordingly, it would be desirable to provide an aquarium equipment that is conducive to the climate inside an aquarium and / or that provides a good substitute for previously used coral skeletons.
An embodiment of the invention relates to an aquarium equipment comprising a body of calcareous porous natural stone; and a water-insoluble coating, wherein the water-insoluble coating at least partially covers the outside of the body of calcareous, porous natural stone.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention make it possible to provide an aquarium equipment that can be insensitive and stable to a good climate in an aquarium. The body of calcareous, porous natural stone is well suited to microorganisms, which are highly conducive to a functioning aquarium, especially for a functioning saltwater aquarium, on and in it. The porosity and thus the large inner surface of the calcareous, porous natural stone and the lime content of the calcareous, porous natural stone help in the settlement of the microorganisms. The large internal surface and the lime content of the calcareous, porous natural stone also promote a healthy PH value of the water in the aquarium. The water-insoluble coating on the outside of the body of calcareous, porous natural stone allows a high stability of the outer contour of the aquarium equipment object. Crumbling of the calcareous, porous natural stone is made more difficult, and a common arrangement with other aquarium equipment, such as. stacking of aquarium items according to exemplary embodiments of the invention is facilitated. A good compromise between integrity of the structure and great interaction between the water of the aquarium and the inner surface of the calcareous, porous natural stone can be achieved. By means of the water-insoluble coating, it is also possible to achieve an appearance which is close to a natural environment for the inhabitants of the aquarium as well as for the observers of the aquarium. It can be achieved with the aquarium equipment object a coral reef optics similar appearance.
According to a further embodiment, the basic body is made of calcareous sinter or calcareous volcanic rock or of travertine rock. The mentioned types of calcareous porous natural stones are well suited to enable the above-mentioned beneficial effects of the aquarium equipment. Furthermore, the mentioned natural stones are much more available than other natural starting materials for aquarium equipment, such as e.g. Coral skeletons, so that the equipment according to exemplary embodiments of the invention can be provided in large quantities and / or in a less complicated manner.
According to a further embodiment, the basic body of calcareous, porous natural stone has high-pressure-cleaned, calcareous, porous natural stone. By means of high-pressure cleaning, earths and smaller, loose stone particles can be washed out of the calcareous, porous natural stone. In this way, a very large inner surface of the calcareous, porous natural stone can be created, which promotes the settlement of microorganisms to an even greater extent. The calcareous, porous natural stone can be high pressure cleaned with a pressure of between 30 bar and 180 bar. The medium of the high pressure cleaning can be fresh water.
According to a further embodiment, the basic body of calcareous, porous natural stone has pores of a size of 1 mm to 50 mm. In particular, the majority of the pores may have a size of 1 mm to 50 mm. In particular, more than 80% of the pores, in particular more than 90% of the pores, of the main body can have a size of 1 mm to 50 mm.
According to a further embodiment, the water-insoluble coating has a red or green color. In this way, the aquarium equipment is particularly similar to the environment in the natural habitat of many aquarium inhabitants. An aquarium environment can be created in which the aquarium dwellers find their way particularly well and instinctively.
According to a further embodiment, the water-insoluble coating comprises an epoxy lacquer. Epoxy paints, also referred to as epoxy paints, can create a particularly stable and durable exterior structure of the aquarium equipment object. At the same time, epoxy paints are well received by a large number of aquarium dwellers. The epoxy paints may in particular be highly hardening epoxy paints.
In another embodiment, the aquarium kit is designed for use in a marine aquarium. The term seawater aquarium refers to an aquarium that is designed for operation with salt water.
