Andererseits kann der Nabenelektromotors als eine zusätzliche Bremseinrichtung benutzt werden, falls er in den Rekuperationsmodus umgeschaltet wird. Und im Falle eines scharfen Bremsens, wenn man möglichst schnell bremsen möchte, kann Nabenelektromotors als eine noch effektivere Bremseinrichtung benutzt werden, falls man die Polarität der Stromzufuhr auf die gegenseitige verändert und dadurch der Nabenelektromotor als eine aktive Bremsvorrichtung benutzt.
