Bei dem durch Anspruch 2 des Patents 201929 geschützten Streichband wird dieses aus mehreren Strähnen zusammengesetzt, die so ineinandergeschoben sind, daß die an den Verbindungsstellen der Strähnenenden entstehenden Lücken durch die andere Strähne überbrückt und auf diese Weise die Entstehung von unebenen Stellen verhütet wird. Diese Ausbildung des Streichbandes ist zwar weit besser, als wenn die Überbrückung der Verbindungsstellen gänzlich unterlassen wird, aber für das feinere Ohr ist der Übergang einer Verbindungsstelle über die Saite immer noch bemerkbar, besonders dann, wenn ein dünnes Streichband zur Verwendung kommt und der Resonanzboden eine starke Wölbung besitzt, so daß beim Andrücken des Streichbandes gegen die Saite die untere Strähne nachgibt, so daß die Saite, wenn auch wenig, in die Verbindungsstelle hineintreten kann.
