Abstract

The locking mechanism, for holding a htable-top telephone body (cover) to its base plate, consists of a hook (5) attached to the base (1) via a spring arm and engaging through a hole in the body (2). The hook can be pressed back into the hole using a finger. The body can then be removed from the base. A locking pin (11) prevents the hook being disengaged by unauthorised persons. The pin has a cam or bulge (12) at one side that presses the hook outwards into the hole. The pin can be rotated by inserting a screwdriver into the slot at one end (14) of it.
