Mittel zur Behandlung der durch Seborrhoe oder ähnlicher Beeinträchtigungen der Kopfhaut verursachten SchuppenbildungMeans for the treatment of impairments caused by seborrhea or similar flaking of the scalp
The invention relates to an agent for the treatment of impairments of the scalp caused by seborrhea or the like Flaking.
Die gewöhnlich benutzten Medikamente zur Bekämpfung von Schuppen enthalten Schwefel, Resorzin, Quecksilber, Chrysa-Experience has shown that dandruff can be eliminated often resisting stubborn resistance and that they even after weekly shampooing and regular hair care keep coming back. Dandruff is the result of a skin disease, mainly seborrhea, in some cases also dry seborrhea (seborrhea slcca capitis) or the bran-shaped scaling of the head (pityriasis capitis). Commonly used drugs to combat Dandruff contains sulfur, resorcinol, mercury, chrysal

It has been shown that this is known Funds are of limited value and often too serious Have caused damage. For example, sulfur is unsightly and can cause serious skin diseases of its own. Resorcinol bleaches the hair and leads to a green tinge in blonde or red hair. Mercury is easily absorbed and is extremely poisonous. Chrysarobinum may cause kidney irritation when applied to or over large areas Conjunctivitis when used near the eyes. Tar is dirty and potentially carcinogenic.
The present invention la? Therefore, the object of the invention is to find a means for combating dandruff which is not cumbersome and expensive to use and which does not have the disadvantages which occur when using the known dandruff agents.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that, as a means for treating the dandruff caused by seborrhea or similar impairments of the scalp, 5 to 20 vol .-? I, preferably 12 vol.-56 N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide in a binding agent or solvents can be suggested. . In a particularly expedient further development of the invention it is proposed that the solvent is essentially aqueous isopropyl alcohol. According to the invention, a mixture has proven to be particularly advantageous, which consists of 12 vol. -i » Ν, Ν-diethyl-m-toluamide, 50 vciL-36 isopropyl alcohol and 38 νο1-5ί distilled water.

The Ν, Ν-diethyl-m-toluamide is the active component of the dandruff agent according to the invention. Good results have been achieved with a 7 vol .- # portion of this ingredient, excellent results with a 12 vol% portion. In general, the agent is applied in small amounts daily, and the treatment is continued for 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the severity of the dandruff. In many cases it has been found that success is achieved within the first week and that it is generally not necessary to continue treatment beyond three weeks. With each treatment, the hair should be moistened or the scalp should be drunk with the treatment agent; will. It has been shown that with such a treatment a bottle with a content of 6 el is sufficient for two weeks. However, the individual dose that should be used with each treatment is not critical. It is recommended that you massage the scalp with your fingertips for about a minute with each treatment. The agent according to the invention should normally be used daily in the morning, otherwise the application should be based on the severity of the dandruff.
Clinical tests have already been carried out in a large number of cases carried out, which showed unusually successful results have without any failure. There are also three-part side effects have not yet been observed. The results of these clinical tests are shown below using two examples reported.

1. Beispiel:1st example:
The agent according to the invention, which contained an active ingredient of 7 vol .- # N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide, was tested on a group of 26 patients, all of whom suffered from dandruff that is difficult to treat. Seventeen of them were men, nine women. Their mean age was 39.4 years and ranged from 21 to 54 years. In 16 cases the diagnosis was seborrhea, in 6 cases dry seborrhea and in 4 cases bran-shaped scaling of the head. The patients had suffered from their dandruff for one to nine years, on average for three to eight years. Most of these cases showed a significant decrease in dandruff in the first week and complete disappearance of dandruff by the end of the second or third week. In 5 cases the treatment had to be continued for 4 weeks before the dandruff was completely under control. Successful results were obtained from 1-4 weeks, averaging 2.6 weeks. In 18 cases or 69 # the dandruff disappeared completely without a relapse during the observation period. In 5 cases or 19 # , only slight recurrence of the dandruff was observed after 1 week. In 3 cases or 12/6 some dandruff reappeared after a week, but considerably less than before the treatment. Thus, favorable results were obtained in all 26 cases and in no case did dandruff appear even nearly as bad as originally. Irritation, itching or other side effects were not observed in any case.

A double-encrypted test was carried out on 25 patients. One treating agent consisted of a liquid A containing 12 vol .- ^ of the active ingredient. Your exact The composition was as follows: 12 ml of N, N-diethylm-toluamide, 38 ml distilled water, 50 ml isopropyl alcohol, approx. 1.5 ml perfume.
Neither the patients nor the doctors knew what the liquids contained. The 25 test persons were initially examined and evaluated according to the duration of their condition, the manifestations and the objective findings of their seborrhea. The subjects were instructed to continue washing their hair and heads as usual. Liquids A and B were alternately dispensed to the test subjects, who were instructed to use the liquid daily for a period of two weeks. At the end of this period, the patients were evaluated according to objective and subjective criteria. They were then given a bottle of the same liquid to use for an additional two week period. At the end of the entire 4 weeks, the subjects were interviewed and examined again. The treatment was then suspended in all patients for 3 weeks, so that the transfer of effects from the treatment with the first liquid to the time of the treatment with the second liquid could be avoided. After these three weeks the patients received the other treatment "fiu" 0lgk "it, dl · they also for a period of time
