Viele der bisherigen Thermometerconstructionen haben in der Abdichtung im Thermometergehäuse
für den praktischen Gebrauch störende Nachtheile. Die meisten derselben müssen beim Bruch des Thermometers an die-Verfertiger
gesandt werden. Meine Construction hingegen läfst ein Auswechseln des alten
und Einsetzen des neuen Thermometers gleich an Ort und Stelle, ja selbst ohne Entfernung
des Thermometergehäuses von seiner Befestigung zu, so dafs bedeutend an Geld und Zeit
gespart wird. Dabei ist zufolge der eigenthümlichen Construction der stets gleiche Sitz des
Thermometers bei leichter und sicherer Dichtung gewährleistet.Many of the previous thermometer constructions have had the seal in the thermometer housing

Der Thermometereinsatz D mit oberer breiter Scala hat im oberen Theil der unteren Röhre
einen Bund E. Dieser legt sich beim Einsetzen auf den unteren ungetheilten Gummiring F.
Oberhalb des Bundes kommt der getheilte Gummiring G, über denselben das ebenfalls aufgeschnittene
Plättchen R zu liegen, und endlich wird die aus zwei oder mehr Theilen bestehende·
Stopfbüchse H aufgesetzt und niedergeschraubt. Dafs die oberhalb E befindlichen
Dichtungstheile sämmtlich getheilt ausgeführt werden müssen, wird durch die obere Erweiterung
des Thermometers zur Aufnahme der Scala nöthig. Der für das richtige Eingreifen der Gewinde nöthige Schlufs in der getheilten
Stopfbüchse H wird durch die vorstehenden, eingelötheten Zäpfchen J bewirkt, die in correspondirende
Aushöhlungen der Schnittfläche eintreten. Zum Anziehen der Stopfbüchse dient ein kleiner Stift, welcher in die Löcher K gesteckt
wird. Beim Niederschrauben füllen der obere und untere Gummiring den freien
Raum im Gehäuse und am Bunde E vollkommen aus.The thermometer insert D with the upper wide scale has a collar E in the upper part of the lower tube. zwei Gummiringen liegende Bund E und die ein- oder mehrmal getheilte Stopfbüchse H zum
