"Anordnung für in die Erde vergrab- oder versenkbare Transformatoren""Arrangement for transformers that can be buried or submerged in the ground"
In recent years, attempts have repeatedly been made to sink or bury power transformers directly in the earth, as the construction of transformer houses or expanded underground stations or simply the installation of the transformers is expensive and difficult in certain places. In the case of the underfloor stations, of course, there is always a corresponding one Cooling of the transformers must be ensured, d. H. these underground stations must have shafts through which warm air can escape and cold air can enter. This also makes these underground stations relatively expensive. In general, it is not desirable for parts that protrude above the ground to be accessible obstruct or disrupt the relevant part of the road or path. Especially in today's cityscape, aesthetic, Technical parts protruding above the ground are only reluctantly seen for traffic and other reasons. These points of view takes into account the invention described below.
With this facility, the transformer can be buried or sunk into the ground with full cooling options it does not protrude from the ground or street level. This device consists in that the transformer in a housing is sunk directly into the ground, but that around this housing to a depth of 80 to 120 cm or more, accordingly the depth of a cable duct, a round or square ring made of plastic, cement, metal or another suitable material is sunk into the ground at such a distance from the transformer housing that the exhaust air is protected by a grate and the fresh air can blow in through another part of the grate. This grate and a cover plate just above the transformer are then covered flush with the ground over the housing.
Abb. Fig. I shows a cross section and Fig. II a view of this arrangement from above. 1 is the outer jacket around the transformer 2. It can be made of plastic, metal, concrete, or any other suitable material. 3 is the inner jacket, which, however, as in the example given, »can also be formed by two partition walls. The outer jacket 1 can form a unit with the inner one, which is sunk and buried in the ground. At the height of the cable duct, a ring 4 », also made of plastic, metal or concrete or some other suitable material, is buried and surrounded on all sides by the earth. This ring goes to the surface of the sidewalk, the street or a green area so that a cover plate 5 and grate 6 cut off with the level. Under the grids there are suitable baffles or plates that keep water and dirt away from the interior of the housing and guide them into the channel 8 formed by the ring 4 and the exterior 1 of the housing. The ring and thus the channel can have a circular shape, but also any other shape, e.g. B. assume a rectangle or a polygon, depending on the local installation conditions. The bottom of the channel 8 is expediently filled with sand and gravel so that the penetrating water can seep away quickly. Otherwise the whole structure is surrounded by earth. The warm air generated by the transformer 2 flows inside the housing 3 upwards and in the direction of the arrows 9 through the grate 6 running around it the baffle around in the channel between housing parts 1 and 3 and thus sucked on the transformer. The arrows 10 indicate this suction direction. The housing 1 can be round, polygonal or square, regardless of whether the edge has a different or the same shape. In the figures, the housing 1 has a cylindrical shape, and the ventilation duct 8 has a rectangular shape.
