Regelbare Motorbremse
---------------------
Adjustable engine brake ---------------------
Engine brakes are known in which a shut-off device in the form of a slide or a flap is provided in the exhaust line of the engine. If the shut-off device is closed in such an arrangement, pressure builds up in the exhaust line and the motor and the drive axle connected to it via a gearbox and cardan shaft are braked. The braking effect on the vehicle depends not only on the gear engaged, but also on the pressure in the exhaust line. One possibility of regulating the braking is that the shut-off device does not completely close the exhaust line or release it to the greatest possible extent, but occupies an intermediate position in which the exhaust line is only partially blocked and the cross-section of the exhaust line has only been reduced. However, this control option is extremely sensitive due to the small control angle available. This disadvantage is remedied in a known arrangement in that the two parts of the exhaust line which are on both sides of the shut-off element, bypassing the shut-off element, are connected to one another via a bypass channel which is narrow compared to the exhaust line and which has a further adjustable shut-off element. In this arrangement, the shut-off device is in the Ausputfleitung a coarse regulation possible by dM Ab «blocking
organ is adjustable between two end positions, in one of which the exhaust line is released to the greatest possible extent and in the other of which the exhaust line is completely shut off. In addition, the shut-off element in the bypass channel enables fine control of the braking effect, in that a relatively large control path of the shut-off element is required to achieve a pressure change in the exhaust line. In the case of the last-mentioned known arrangement, the shut-off elements in the exhaust line and in the bypass duct are actuated mechanically, in that each shut-off element is assigned a separate mechanical control rod is.
The invention aims to provide a solution which is particularly useful for hydraulic or pneumatic control of the shut-off devices.

gebenen Weise.
