Description

Fabric has long been known to use natural fibers, such as. B. to mix wool or cotton with synthetic fibers and also to produce appropriate blended fabrics. The use of such mixtures of synthetic and natural fibers has been promoted in particular through the invention of polyester fibers, which, depending on how they are manufactured, can have properties similar to wool or those of cotton. It is known, for example, to produce a fabric from a mixed yarn consisting of 45% wool and 55% polyester fiber. Fabrics made from such mixed yarns are extremely durable without being significantly more expensive to manufacture and use. However, in addition to the recognized good properties, these blended fabrics have the disadvantage that the surface gloss of the synthetic fibers is different from that of wool and consequently leads to an unappealing overall appearance. If the fabric contains, as is usually the case, so-called matt fibers, which can be produced by adding a considerable amount of matting agents in pigment form to the polyester mass, the entire fabric acquires a dull character; the appearance of such a fabric is called dead. B. use pigment-free so-called glossy polyester fibers, the fabric in turn receives an undesirable greasy luster, which makes its use very difficult, especially in the textile sector. It has also been suggested to use a blend of glossy and matte polyester fibers. But it is obvious that such a mixture can never give the desired appearance, because the glossy fibers as such are always their "greasy" Retain glossy character and thereby disrupt the uniform image. Quite apart from that, the production of such a mixture would also be possible because of the different textile properties and" the gloss-matt fibers are unnecessarily difficult.

The same problem occurs when blending cotton or

Viscose wool with polyester fibers. Here, too, the unwanted disturbs The pigment-free polyester fiber shines the overall appearance of the fabric while matting Polyester fibers cause a dull appearance.

The fabric according to the innovation is characterized in that it is whole or consists predominantly of fibers made of aromatic polyesters, which 0.01 to 0.15, preferably 0.06%, titanium dioxide. These fibers can be with very good performance properties, especially strength and elongation and are also excellent in spinning when mixed with natural fibers to spin into yarn. That from a z. B. from 45% wool and 55% of the 0.06 titanium dioxide containing polyester fiber existing mixed yarn produced fabric has a uniform, elegant, subtle mohair shine and has the great advantage of that due to the low addition of matting agent, a very good lightfastness of the tissue is achieved.

The fabric according to the innovation can of course also be 100% made of polyester fibers or yarns with a content of Titanium dioxide consist of only 0.01 to 0.15%. Such a fabric has all the properties which are known per se for polyester fibers, such as increased strength, good elastic Behavior, particularly high abrasion and flexural strength, very low moisture absorption etc. In addition, this polyester fabric has an even, weak silk gloss which is known from natural silk and is valued as such.

Die beigefügte Abbildung zeigt das neuerungemässe Gewebe. The attached illustration shows the new fabric.
