Bei der Anwendung des Apparates wird die Saugglocke 1 bei Beginn der

von dem unteren Teil der Saugglocke entlang der ausgebuchteten Seitenwand zu dem
Ringspalt 11 und von hier in dsn Schlauch 5. Der Unterdruck bewirkt, dass sich die
Haut 12 dicht an die Scheibe 7 anlegt und sich gleichzeitig seitlich um die abgerundete
Kante 2 der Saugöffnung 3 faltet. Somit erstreckt sich die Haut entlang der seitlichen
Ausbuchtung der Glockenwand und bildet eine wesentlich ausgebreitete Blase, wie
in Abb. 1 gezeigt ist. Die Haut wird stark gegen die Innenfläche der Kante 2 gedrückt,
wodurch ein ausserordentlich gutes Anhaften der Kopfhaut an die Saugglocke erreicht
wird. Wie aus der Zeichnung zu entnehmen ist erfolgt die Umfaltung der Kopfhaut
um die Saugöffnungskante annähernd in einem Winkel von 180°, und bei dem dargestellten
Ausführungsbeispiel ist der Radius der Uandkurve in der Nähe der Saugöffnung etwa
die Hälfte des Abstandes zwischen der Saugöffnung und der Scheibe 7. Es hat sich
gezeigt, dass das Anhaften der Kopfhaut innerhalb der Sausglocke derart stark ist,
dass die Schleimflüssigkeit an der Kopfhaut die Haut nicht von der Saugglocke zu
lösen vermag. Vermittels des Handgriffes 14 kann
die Saugglocke
einer Zugwirkung unterworfen werden, um die Geburt zu erleichtern. Es ist mit Hilfe
des Fingergriffes 6 möglich, das Kind in die richtige Lage zu drehen. Gleichzeitig
dient der
Fingergriff als Richtmarke um zu beobachten, ob sich das Kind
während der Geburt selbst gedreht hat.
