PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
KLASSEGREAT
Um noch stärkere Wirkungen bei der treibkräftigen Verpuffung von AlkoholenFrom substances which, due to their chemical action, are suitable for this purpose, the explosive To facilitate disintegration of propellants for explosion engines and their internal To increase strength, picric acid and nitrobenzene have so far been used, which were mixed with the alcohols, etc. To have even stronger effects in the driving deflagration of alcohols
ίο oder von Gemischen dieser mit Kohlenwasserstoffen hervorzurufen, werden nach der Erfindung Salpetersäureester zur Mitverbrennung mit diesen Treibmitteln gebracht.ίο or mixtures of these with hydrocarbons cause, according to the invention, nitric acid esters are brought to co-incineration with these propellants.
The nitric acid esters, which in and of themselves are capable of deflagration or explosive, differ in the context outlined above, they differ from those used to increase the explosive capacity nitro substitution products commonly used as additives of alcoholic propellants of the benzene series, apart from the fact that nitric acid esters of a chemically differently constituted body group such as nitro products belong to the benzene pure, the effect according to the following points:
i. bedürfen die Hauptrepräsentanten der Salpetersäureester, wie Methylnitrat, Äthylnitrat und Nitroglyzerin, um einen Initialchoc in einem explosiblen Luftgemenge auszuüben, einer viel geringeren äußeren physikaiischen Anregung als Nitroverbindungen.i. require the main representatives of the nitric acid esters, such as methyl nitrate, ethyl nitrate and nitroglycerin to exercise an initial choc in an explosive mixture of air, much less external physical stimulation than nitro compounds.
(Vergl. Gm el i η Kraut, Handbuch der anorg. Chemie 1877, i. Bd., i. Abtlg. S. 661.)2. for the same amount of bound nitrogen is the available mechanical work in the nitric acid esters are larger than in the nitro substitution products. (See Gm el i η herb, Manual of the anorg. Chemie 1877, i. Vol., I. Dept. p. 661.)
For the stated purpose of increasing the chemical activity of propellants For explosion engines, the inventor mainly uses methyl nitrate, ethyl nitrate and nitroglycerin. These nitric acid esters or their group relatives are joint deflagration with alcohols or their mixtures with hydrocarbons mechanically most informal and expedient of the fat or benzene series made accessible by using these propellants, possibly in the presence of nitrated benzene derivatives, either immediately before performing their joint function by merging separate lines or mixed for a long time before use.
