Description
The invention relates to a method for the production of storable and pourable asphalt concrete, in which the Nuisance caused by dust generation is avoided.
In the production of asphalt concrete, it is essential to use the usual aggregates (cf. Example of technical regulations and guidelines for the construction of bituminous road surfaces TV bit 3/64, TVT RU bit 60 and a.) a necessary requirement to dry the minerals and aggregates in order to achieve an intimate Ensure connection with the bitumen. In a known method (Australian patent specification 2 33 627), for example, sand and gravel are used before these substances are mixed with powdered cold bitumen are brought together, heated to a temperature above the melting point of the bitumen. During this heating of the mineral and aggregates, a considerable amount of dust is generated, which the Creation of dust extraction systems makes it necessary (TV bit 3/64 p. 19).
In another method (US Pat. No. 20 80 690), a mineral filler containing air inclusions and moisture is introduced into the molten bitumen in extremely fine distribution, this being kept at a temperature of about 200 to 300 ° C. and the moisture adhering to the filler being absorbed by the Introduction of superheated steam of approximately the same temperature is removed in order to ensure a firmly adhering coating of bitumen to the filler. This process, too, is not free from the development of dust and requires considerable additional expenditure due to the use of special mixing drums suitable for carrying out this special process.
The invention is therefore based on the object of carrying out this process without generating dust, what is achieved according to the invention in that the necessary for the production of asphalt concrete known minerals and additives in a still moist state with the addition of protein as Adhesive mixed with heated bitumen and with the usual amounts for the production of asphalt concrete be covered with bitumen. Protein promotes the adhesion of heated food in a special way Bitumen on the damp aggregates.
Advantageously, essentially uniform grain sizes are obtained for mixing with the heated bitumen containing minerals and aggregates used and then different fractions on the Construction site mixed in the desired proportions according to the respective installation purpose. The mixing the aggregates with the heated bitumen are optionally added after adding a filler the same way known when using dried aggregates, thanks to the adhesive a Lumping together of the granular aggregates avoided and thus the pourability with unrestricted Shelf life is achieved. The shelf life of the bitumen-coated aggregates in different Grain size has the advantage that at the construction site according to the respective installation purpose different fractions are mixed together in a mixer in the desired proportions can be, no further additions are required. Even after the During the mixing process, the material to be mixed can be temporarily stored for any length of time.
