Registrier- und Kopiermaterial ( Zusatz zu Patent ( P 15 04 234.9)Registration and copying material (addendum to patent (P 15 04 234.9)
Subject of the patent ... (patent application P 15 04 234.9) is a process for the production of a printing and writing medium of high opacity by pouring a solution of plastic in a volatile organic solvent on a smooth surface and adding another organic layer Liquid that is miscible with the solvent, aper does not or only slightly dissolves the plastic, whereby the Plastic flocculated and through complete evaporation both organic liquids is dried to form a coherent web and then removed from the base. In this case, the drying takes place below the sintering temperature of the plastic, expediently at temperatures between 50 and 8o C. Preferably the one that does not release the plastic The liquid is less volatile than the solvent. The on The solution poured onto the smooth base can also contain the plastic in a mixture of the more volatile solvent and contain the less volatile organic compound, so that when the more volatile Solvent the plastic coagulates and then the less volatile compound is evaporated.

In this process, a printing or writing substrate with an opacity of the order of "90 " is obtained without any use of inorganic pigments or dyes. If uncolored plastic solutions are used, the material has a brilliant white color, which can otherwise only be achieved with paper, for example, with the help of very high-quality pigments. Such a print carrier corresponds in terms of raw material to a plastic film and in its properties to high-quality printing and writing paper.
In a further development of the process according to the patent ... (Patent application P I5 04 23 ^ · 9) has now been found that the highly opaque, microporous flat structures result in excellent recording and copying materials when the plastic solution insoluble inorganic and / or organic pigments are also added. Surprisingly the pigments appear visually strongly weakened or indifferent within the opaque, microporous surface structure, only to become visible when pressure, heat, etc. are applied. It is also possible to use insoluble ones Pigments according to the method mentioned above by coagulating plastic from a solution with the aid of a further organic liquid that is miscible with the solvent, but does not dissolve the plastic and is complete To use coated sheet-like structures produced by vaporization of both liquids for recording and copying purposes, the recording then taking place on the coated side of the sheet-like structure. The advantage here is that the In contrast to conventional coated recording and copying materials, the web to be coated is not colored needs to be. The registration produced according to the invention and copy material also allows, for example, the duplication of double-sided printed rare items using the thermal copying process.

In general, it is desirable that the registration raids Copy materials are pure white and the records appear clear, i.e. not washed out or blurred, in a clearly visible color that is as high-contrast as possible. It is therefore particularly advantageous that the invention The material produced is still white, even with larger quantities and strongly colored pigments, while the writing is engraved becomes sharp and clearly visible due to the high contrast. For example, it is possible to produce finely divided, dispersible Carbon black in amounts of about 2-10 percent by weight, if desired also in lower or higher percentages, to incorporate. Depending on the degree of dispersion of the pigment, the material can still be colored white with 5 ■■ $ carbon black be. All with the plastic are suitable as pigments Miscible and insoluble in the given solvents inorganic and / or organic dyes, preferably those that have a strong hue. The color of the pigments to be used depends on the desired Color of the writing or the possibly preferred inherent color of the recording material. It should be noted, however, that a Self-coloring of the recording material only occurs with a relatively high percentage of the added pigments, unless it is other coloring additives are used.
The visibility of the recordings through pressure, heat, etc. », is brought about by the fact that the microporous plastic layer penetrated by cavities when pressed together becomes transparent, whereby the color of the added pigment, which was previously optically indifferent, now to the fore comes.
