so hergestellt,
Method and device for filling pasty or soft plastic
Masses in metal corrugated cable sheaths, especially power cables with corrugated
Metal sheaths are used to fill the gaps between the cable core and the corrugated sheath
to increase the longitudinal watertightness of the cable with a paraffinic compound
filled. This mass has a pasty consistency within normal temperature ranges,
i.e. it does not flow, has no effect on the substances used as soul insulation
swelling or dissolving, it attacks the metal jacket and produces excellent properties
Longitudinal watertightness of the cable. Because this mass is molten at around 70o C.
is, this mass has so far been incorporated into the fully sheathed gel-sheathed cable in such a way that
that they are in the molten state in the preheated cable with high pressure. pressed into it
will. After the cable has cooled down and the mass has solidified, there are gaps
between the corrugated jacket and the cable core completely with the pasty paraffin-like mass
completed This way of filling is very cost-guzzling because it is a special operation
in the manufacture of the cable, which also requires a considerable additional
Time required to melt the mass, which requires preheating and filling of the cable.
In addition, the filling device with melting tank, pressure pump and preheating device
is expensive for the cable and takes up additional space. The invention works
from the consideration that all these-additional facilities and in particular
the additional work and time expenditure can be saved if the paraffin loop

made so
that in one continuous operation around the cable core from a flat metal band
A slotted tube is formed around, which is longitudinally welded and then corrugated
will. In the production of such cables, according to the invention, the mass is still in the
Open slotted tube before the cable core runs in in portions and in quantity
so dosed filled that the mass after the insertion of the cable core and the
Welding and corrugation of the metal jacket, the cavities between the metal jacket and
Cable core closes longitudinally watertight. With the help of the drawing, which is shown schematically in
Fig. 1 shows a filling device according to the invention and in Fig. 2 the filling process is shown,
the invention is explained for example. In a heated boiler 1 is the
melted into the cable, mass to be filled and in a molten state by means of
of the DosiEmpUmpe 2 conveyed via a cooling coil 4, which is located in the cooling container 3
is housed. In the Kühl.sehlange 4, the mass is in a soft, pasty aggregate state
cooled, whereby an increase in the static dynamic pressure occurs. Through appropriate
Regulation of the delivery rate of the pump 2 via stroke adjustment 2a @ and / or speed control device
2b, the back pressure increase - the mass in the cooling coil 4 can be set so
that the mass at 5 (Fig. 2) in precisely meterable amounts and in certain selectable
Time intervals aus- de-zA = KÜffisählange exits and thus in portions, how
illustrated at 7, into which the open slot tube 6 is filled. The incoming
Cable core 8 distributes the piles of mass 7 with correct dosage, i.e. with correct
set back pressure to .about 3/4 of the inner seat tube circumference, so that the
The slot seam of the slot tube 6 to be welded remains free of mass and a disruption
the welding process is prevented. Immediately behind the welding device 9,
E.g. an argon arc welding torch, the finished welded pipe is passed through the cooling device
10 cooled,
so the mass inside the pipe does not correspond
the heat of welding can dissipate.
By subsequently corrugating the welded pipe in the corrugating device
11, the piles of mass in the finished corrugated cable jacket 12 are pressed so that
the cavities between the cable core and the corrugated jacket seen in the longitudinal direction of the cable
at more or less even intervals with the interposition of air pockets
Are plug-like closed, so that the longitudinal watertightness of the cable-is guaranteed.
The air inclusions between the individual ground plugs allow inadmissible
high heating of the cable, for example due to a short circuit or overload, a
desired expansion of the ground plug within the cable jacket, so that in this
In the event of the mass swelling out of the cable sheath in connecting or branching sleeves
is avoided into it. In the event of brief overloading of the cable during operation and
a short-term inadmissibly high heating of the cable caused by this remains
So the longitudinal watertightness of the cable is fully preserved because of the possibility of expansion
of the individual ground plugs, no mass emerges from the cable. Melting vessel 1 and
Cooling vessel 3 will be fully automatic accordingly during operation
temperatures set according to the operational requirements are controlled in order to achieve a
temperature difference necessary to generate the required back pressure in the cooling coil
between melting vessel and cooling beat by changing the physical state accordingly
to have the crowd. The temperature depends of course on the melting or melting point.
Hardening point of the mass. In one embodiment in operation
the mass to be filled in the melting vessel 1 is kept constant at 70o 0 and in
the cooling coil 4 is cooled to 45 - 50o C.
