Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
Bei den Untersuchungen über die Veränderung der Konsistenz von fetten Ölen unter dem Einflüsse von Schwefel und Chlorschwefel, sowie von Siccativen, wie borsaures Mangan, Bleioxyde usw., oder von Luft, Ozon und dergl. wurde gefunden, daß einige Metallchloride die Eigenschaft besitzen, die Konsistenz dieser Öle insofern zu verändern, daß dieselben sich in dickflüssige bis feste KörperWhen researching changes in the consistency of fatty oils under the influence of sulfur and chlorosulfur, as well as of siccatives, such as boric acid Manganese, lead oxides, etc., or from air, ozone, and the like, have been found to contain some metal chlorides have the property of changing the consistency of these oils in such a way that they turn into thick to solid bodies
B. Leinöl, welches ursprünglich die Jodzahl von 170,9 besaß, nach der Behandlungίο have it transferred as you wish. Most appropriate aluminum chloride has proven to be responsible for this conversion. If fatty oils are treated with this reagent, one obtains thick to solid bodies, which are difficult for those treated with oxygen, Ozone, siccatives, sulfur or chlorosulfur are resulting analogues. You own also lower iodine numbers than the original oils, which is also the case with varnishes or factories; so shows z. B. Linseed oil, which originally had an iodine number of 170.9, after the treatment
mit ι Prozent Aluminiumchlorid die Jodzahl von 161,9,with ι percent aluminum chloride the iodine number of 161.9,
mit 3 Prozent Aluminiumchlorid die Jodzahl von 150,0,with 3 percent aluminum chloride the iodine number of 150.0,
mit 5 Prozent Aluminiumchlorid die Jodzahl von 124,8,with 5 percent aluminum chloride the iodine number of 124.8,
mit 7 Prozent Aluminiumchlorid die Jodzahl von 95,6,with 7 percent aluminum chloride the iodine number of 95.6,
mit 10 Prozent Aluminiumchlorid die Jodzahl von 77,5 usw.with 10 percent aluminum chloride the iodine number of 77.5 etc.
Show rapeseed oils or castor oil etc. treated with varying amounts of aluminum chloride the same gradual decrease in the iodine number, with which hand in hand the change the consistency of the oil going on; so is z. B. with ι percent aluminum chloride ber traded linseed oil is more viscous than the original; treated with 3 percent - gelatinous; with 5 percent - firm but greasy, while linseed oil treated with 7 percent • is very firm and can be rubbed between the fingers. This found in the fatty oils Dependency between the iodine number and the exposure to aluminum chloride led to the thought that other bodies that have the ability to add iodine also affect their behavior to be tested against aluminum chloride. It was found that Trane, which is known to have a high iodine addition capacity have much smaller amounts of aluminum chloride than are necessary with fatty oils, in viscous to solid ones Bodies can be transformed. It has also been found that when resins are molten Conditions that have been treated with aluminum chloride have changed their viscosity insofar as they are in molten state Conditions have a much higher degree of viscosity than at the same temperature before treatment.
Die nach dieser Behandlung, resultierenden Körper können, behufs Entfernung der entstandenen chlorhaltigen Reaktionsprodukte mit Luft abgeblasen , mit verdünntem Alkali oder mitTreatment with aluminum chloride is done by introducing one through one Preliminary test determined amount of the chloride while stirring in the advantageously warmed or event, liquefied mass, where the reaction occurs momentarily. The after This treatment, the resulting body can, for the purpose of removing the resulting body Chlorine-containing reaction products are blown off with air, with dilute alkali or with
Der wesentliche technische Effekt dieses Verfahrens liegt auch noch darin, daß man , ohne längeresWater can be washed, including by evaporation be freed from the named bodies! The characteristic of the present So the process lies in having it in hand, the consistency of the above-mentioned bodies up to a desired one To change the viscosity grade. The main technical effect of this process lies also in the fact that one, without a long
ίο Kochen Firnisse oder dickflüssige fette Öle herstellen kann, ferner auch darin, daß es gelingt, fette Öle und Trane in feste Form zu überführen, ohne längeres Kochen oder Oxydieren, sowie auch ohne Zusatz von Schwefel oder Chlorschwefel, wie es bei der Fabrikation von Faktissen notwendig der Fall ist; auch gibt dieses Verfahren die Möglichkeit, die Viscosität der Harze in flüssigem Zustande beliebig zu verändern.ίο Cooking varnishes or thick fatty oils can produce, also in the fact that it is possible to produce fatty oils and Trane in solid form to be transferred without prolonged boiling or oxidation, as well as without the addition of sulfur or chlorosulfur, as is the case with the Fabrication of factories is necessary; this procedure also gives the possibility to change the viscosity of the resins in the liquid state as desired.
Can be advantageous for the production of paints or varnishes by themselves or in admixture with resins or other bodies, because they are volatile Dissolve organic solvents, and leave behind after the solvent has evaporated a varnish or varnish-like skin. The products in question can also be used for or in a mixture with other substances instead of the so-called factice in rubber technology 30 use.
