PATENTAMTPATENT OFFICE
Patent specification 70697 describes a process for producing a photographic chrome gelatine transfer paper, in which a grain is mechanically pressed into the finished sensitized paper. ■> The intended purpose of breaking down a halftone image to be copied into printable grain is not entirely achieved as the bichromate is present in the pressed-in depressions as well as in the elevations. The depressions can therefore also accept printing ink where they are exposed, especially in the case of shallow reliefs, so that the grain is easily smeared.
Nach vorliegender Erfindung soll deshalbAccording to the present invention, therefore
Sensitization with bichromate is only carried out after the grain has been pressed in will. This means that if it is carried out correctly, the bichromate only or at least mainly moves into the elevation and into the depressions only penetrates to a lesser extent. Sensitizing grained papers in this way has already been proposed (see Yearbook of Photographic 1896, p. 297), but the grain was here through The addition of granular fillers (emery, glass powder, etc.) to gelatine is achieved. Apart from that from the fact that such gelatin mixtures are difficult to produce evenly and free of bubbles can be painted, they get especially the material of the fillers in the elevations , which does not accept the bichromate solution itself, so give no guarantee that the elevations are more sensitized than the depressions, which is what is said in the present case Procedures using the necessary precautionary measures, e.g. B. always swim on the bichromate solution can.
The best way to perform the procedure is to use soft gelatin because it is there is a higher relief.
The paper is first dipped in warm water of at least 30 0 and a solution of 100 g soft gelatin in 600 g water, 5 g glycerol, alcohol log poured over and dried.
For the purpose of graining it is then slightly swollen with water and against a Glass plate cut with carborundum squeezed or pressed in in another way Grain provided.
The best way to sensitize is with a solution of 26 g of double-chromate ammonium in 500 g of water and 10 g of alcohol.
