Gegenstand des Hauptpatentes 1st ein Verfahren zum Herstellen
von, Insbesondere ultraviolettes«. Licht leitenden Systemen, bei welchem lichtdurchlässige Glasstäbe oder Fasern bzw. für
ultraviolettes Licht Stabe oder Fasern aus Quarzglas, mit einem
Kunststoff, mit einem Brechungsindex, der kleiner ist als der des su beschichtenden Materials, mindestens einige Wellenlängen
dick in optischem Kontakt mit dem Untergrund beschichtet werden.
Es hat sich gezeigt, daß mit deft int Hauptpatent angegebenen
Kunststoffen, Insbesondere mit Polysiloxan auf Quarzglaskernen
im ultravioletten Bereich Öffnungswinkel 2 06Q um 30°, auf einem
Glaskern mit einem Brechungsindex n54ß «1,62 bei dieser Wellenlange
ein Öffnungswinkel um 100° erhalten werden.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man noch wesentlich größere Öffnungswinkel
erzielt, wenn als Kunststoff ein transparenter, hochfluorierter, aliphatischer Kunststoff, vorzugsweise ein Misch-

polymerisat aus Tetrafluoräthylen und Hexafluorpropylen verwendet
wird. Aus Quarzglaskernen erzielt man an Stelle des oben erwähnten öffnungswinkels von 30° einen solchen von 65°,
aus Glaskernen mit Brechungsindex ης-6 ■ 1,62 an Stelle von
100° einen solchen von 130°.
Man kann handelsübliche wässrige Dispersionen verwenden und die Dispergiermittel bei erhöhter Temperatur, vorzugsweise bei
280 - 320° C entfernen, wobei ein transparenter, glatter, als optischer Mantel wirkender Film auf dem Glas zurückbleibt. Überraschend
ist dabei weiterhin der gute optische Kontakt dieses an sich als sehr antiadhäsiv bekannten Materials auf den glatten,
nicht speziell vorbehandelten Glasflächen, was wohl darauf zurückzuführen ist, daß sich der PiIm als geschlossener Mantel
um den Stab selbst hält.
Die gemäß der Erfindung hergestellten lichtleitenden Systeme erschließen
auf Grund ihrer extrem großen öffnungswinkel neue Möglichkeiten der Lichtleitung im sichtbaren und vor allem im
ultravioletten Bereich.
Ein sorgfältig entfetteter Glas- oder Quarzglasstab mit polierten Endflächen wird langsam und mit gleichbleibender Geschwindigkeit
aus einer wässrigen Dispersion von Teflon FEP heraus senkrecht nach oben gezogen, wobei die Ziehgeschwindigkeit die
Schichtdicke bestimmt. Der Stab wird im Trockenschrank einer Temperatur von 280 - 32O° C ausgesetzt, wobei man am verschwinden
der Trübung der Schicht den verlauf der Entfernung der Dispergiermittel
erkennt und wieder abgekühlt. Der Stab wird gewendet und das durch die erforderliche Halterung noch nicht beschichtete
Ende des Stabes auf gleiche Weise beschichtet. Die glatte, transparente Schicht wird an den polierten Endflächen
mit einer Schneide entfernt,

Claims (2)
- U9487APatentansprüchet1, Verfahren zum Herstellen von, insbesondere ultraviolettes. Lieht leitenden Systemen, bei welchem lichtdurchlässige Glasstlbe oder Fasern bzw. für ultraviolettes Licht Stäbe oder Fasern aus Quarzglas, mit einem Kunststoff, mit einem Brechungsindex, der kleiner ist als der des zu beschichtenden Materials, mindestens einige Wellenl&ngen dick in optischem Kontakt mit dem untergrund beschichtet werden, nach Patent (Patentanmeldung J 28 534 IVc/32b, 25/2), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Kunststoff ein transparenter, hochfluorierter, aliphatischer Kunststoff, vorzugsweise ein Mischpolymerisat aus Tetrafluorethylen und Hexafluorpropylen verwendet wird.
- 2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß in an sich bekannter Welse aus einer wässrigen Dispersion beschichtet wird und die Dispergiermittel bei hohen Temperaturen entfernt werden.BAD ORiGiNAL009811/0538
