Description
Device for conveying fresh air from internal combustion engines in vehicles ----------------------------------------- - f In vehicles that are driven by an internal combustion engine, the combustion air must be sucked in at a suitable point on the vehicle boundary profile and fed from there to the engine. In motor vehicles with a rear engine, it is known to arrange the air intake openings at the rear of the vehicle. This arrangement has the disadvantage that the combustion air must be sucked in and conveyed under increased negative pressure. In addition, the combustion air can be contaminated by the dust whirled up by the vehicle, so that large filters must be provided and the filters must often be cleaned. In particular in buses and rail vehicles, it is also known to arrange the air intake openings in the vehicle side wall. This does not result in any significantly different conditions than with the arrangement of the air intake openings in the rear of the vehicle. Only constructive aspects can speak in favor of one or the other solution. It is also known to arrange air intake openings on the front of the vehicle and to convey the air with the aid of the dynamic pressure. In vehicles with a rear engine, the air intake openings are particularly at the height of the vehicle frame and on its front side, so that the air can easily pass through the appropriately designed vehicle frame to the engine compartment in the rear of the vehicle. In vehicles with an engine located in the front, the air intake openings are arranged on the front of the engine hood or the air ducts are laid to the side of the engine hood and their intake intake openings are in or behind the front transverse plane of the vehicle next to the engine hood. These arrangements have the advantage that only very little or no negative pressure occurs and no dust whirled up by the vehicle is mixed with the air. The disadvantage here is that the sucked in air can be contaminated by dust which the vehicles in front have whirled up and which has not yet settled again. This disadvantage is eliminated when the air intake openings are very high here. For example, form a protective hood protruding beyond the vehicle roof. However, this arrangement has the disadvantage that the air scoop protrudes beyond the optionally aerodynamically favorable vehicle boundary profile. However, if the air intake openings are placed in the vehicle roof in the form of pockets, then again it is generally not possible to manage without harmful negative pressure. Finally, it is known, especially in the case of agricultural tractors, to lead an air intake pipe as high as possible above the vehicle in order to draw in air that is as pure as possible. This solution is bei.Ackerschleppern - useful conventional design. It is not applicable to vehicles with a body, such as motor vehicles, buses, railcars and modern farm tractors with a motor vehicle driver's cab.
The invention aims to provide an air intake device for vehicles with an internal combustion engine create # in which the air intake openings are arranged in such a way that the Back pressure it can take place that as far as possible pure air is sucked in and that the air intake is opened the -possibly aerodynamically favorable Fahrzeuguiagrenzun-profile not or at least only disturb inadvertently.
4 Accordingly, the invention relates to a device for conveying of the fresh air of internal combustion engines for vehicles with a guide house, wherein the openings are in the vehicle front side and passes the fresh air with the aid of the back pressure to the combustion engine. The invention solves the problem posed by the fact that the Frisel #, air suction openings., - are arranged in the area of the front, U upper edge of the driver's cab.
In the solution according to the invention, the air intake openings are located in the area of high dynamic pressure, so that the air delivery iLi generally alone with the dynamic pressure can be caused. The air intake openings are so wide at the front of the vehicle that the sucked in air is not yet contaminated by dust, thrown up by the vehicle itself. The air intake openings are located but also so high above the road that the dust, the vehicles in front whirled up, not in the 1 -, la13e is sucked in, as in vehicles with deep air intake openings. After all, the air intake openings do not have to be protrude beyond the vehicle boundary profile, so they do not interfere with that if necessary aerodynamic vehicle boundary profile.
According to a further invention, 1 time are parts of the driver's cab than adjoining the fresh air intake openings Air duct educated. In particular, the cab roof should be like double-walled components and be designed as a settling chamber for the combustion air. In this sedimentation chamber The suspended particles that are inevitably still present in the sucked in air can become drop. In addition, the arrangement of the settling chamber all the advantages of a Double wall achieved. These advantages include, in particular, great rigidity relatively low weight and good insulation effect.
