When treating methylene violet and its analogues with sulfur and alkali sulfur respectively Alkali polysulphide under certain conditions in the presence of water or Alcohol gives dyes, which unheated cotton in blue tones of greater Coloring beauty and excellent authenticity.
The surprising observation has now been made that one becomes a completely different one The result is achieved if the alkali metal compounds are replaced by hydrogen sulfide respectively the hydrogen supersulfides the alkali salts of the thiocarbonic acids with or without simultaneous addition of sulfur used.
Behandelt man z. If you treat z. B. methylene violet at a moderate temperature in the presence of alcohol with the so-called orthothionate carbonate, expediently with the addition of sulfur (cf. Beilstein, Handbuch, III. ed., Vol. 1, p. 887, and Gelis, Reports 1875, p. 1351), thus one arrives at a noun dye, which unheated cotton becomes clear dyes green shades of excellent fastness properties.
Instead of the orthothiocarbonate one can also use the trithio-carbonate alkali, but in this case alcohol must be used at the same time because of the insolubility of the salt in the latter Add sulfur, which then - while absorbing the sulfur - takes place.
Gelis, 1. c.) fügt man 20 Gewichtstheile Methylenviolett in 300 Gewichtstheilen heifsen Alkohols hinzu. Die Färbungen lassen sichA solution of 90 parts by weight of sodium tetrasulphide in 240 parts by weight of alcohol is made mixed with 45 parts by weight of carbon disulfide and shaken. To the reaction mixture obtained (cf. Gelis, 1. c.) 20 parts by weight of methylene violet are added in 300 parts by weight hot alcohol. The leuco compound of methylene violet is formed immediately. It will then be on the Water bath heated on the reflux condenser, after a few hours the small excess of carbon disulfide was distilled off, and then so the heating continued for a long time until only a sample of the reaction mixture remained Traces of methylene violet are detectable. Something unresolved is filtered hot, distill the alcohol from the filtrate, take up the residue with hot water, filter again and blow the dye out of the filtrate through air. Here comes one Mixture of dye and sulfur, which are used directly for dyeing can. The mixture dissolves in water in the presence of sulfur alkali with green-blue Color on and stains unheated cotton in green tones. The colorations can be
Treat with the usual means, which generally result in small shifts in nuances enter.
The dye is as good as insoluble in water, alcohol and soda solution, in hot water Aniline is difficult to dissolve with a bright green color. The solution in concentrated sulfuric acid is dirty olive green in color.
Under otherwise identical test conditions, the dye mentioned can also be used at a higher temperature, e.g. B. about 120 0 , represent in a closed vessel; the formation then takes place correspondingly faster.
If water is used instead of alcohol, care must be taken to create a solution of the leucomethylene violet occurs, which z. B. achieved by adding sulfur alkali can be; but in this case a larger or smaller one easily forms at the same time Amount of blue formed by the action of alkali polysulphide on methylene violet Dye.
Instead of methylene violet, its analogues can also be used with similar success use.
Als solche kommen diejenigen Verbindungen in Betracht, die den für das Methylenviolett typischen Complex enthalten, welche also Derivate des Amidothiazons:As such, those compounds come into consideration, which for the methylene violet typical complex, which are derivatives of amidothiazone:
Verwendet man z. If you use z. B. instead of methylene violet that from p-diethylamidoanilinthiosulfonic acid and phenol obtainable diethylamidothiazon and otherwise proceeds in the described Thus one also obtains a green noun dye, which is different from that obtained from methylene violet hardly differs.
