Der in Diffusionsbatterien von einem Gefäfs zum anderen übersteigende Saft wird gewöhnlich in den Uebersteigrohren durch Dampf erwärmt, und werden dieselben in diesem Falle Calorisatoren genannt. Sie werden meistens aus Gufseisen verfertigt und enthalten ein System von Messingrohren, welche vom Dampf umspült werden, während der Saft durch die Messingrohre fliefst. Da diese Rohre der ungleichen Ausdehnung der verschiedenen Metalle wegen beweglich sein müssen, so war man bisher genöthigt, für die einzelnen Rohre in einem der beiden Rohrböden Stopfbüchsen anzuwenden. In vorliegender Anordnung ist nun die Beweglichkeit des Rohrsystems dadurch erreicht, dafs der eine Rohrboden (entweder der obere oder auch der untere) beweglich gemacht ist, während die Rohre in den Böden selbst fest eingewalzt sind.The juice leaking from one vessel to another in diffusion batteries becomes common heated by steam in the ascending pipes, and in this case they become calorisers called.
