Mineral oils are mostly used as lubricants in the textile industry, which are small amounts of soap or sulfonates or mixtures of soaps and fats or derivatives thereof. at the processing of synthetic fibers, such as. However, e.g. nylon, these lubricating oils can become stained of the textile products as well as an enrichment and thus a settling of the size on the machine parts cause; they are also difficult to wash out of the textile products. Avoids these disadvantages a lubricant described in US Pat. No. 2,913,407 (cf. comparative experiments) for processing of nylon. However, since the oils described in this patent are only processing are used by nylon fibers, their range of use is limited.
The textile machine oil according to the invention is suitable for processing a wide variety of fibers; it is resistant, does not cause stains or corrosion on metals, does not cause ao Enrichment of the size and is easy to wash off.

nylon
If the oils according to Examples 1 and 2 are used in the processing of cotton and nylon fibers as If spindle oils are used, the fibers and the machine are in excellent condition with no signs of damage Enrichment of sizing or damage to the machine, even after more than one year of operation. Will however an oil mixture similar to Example 1 is used and the sulfided hydrocarbon is omitted (Mixture D), then a considerable enrichment of the sizing and wear occur, and the operation must be canceled within a few days. There is also no improvement in mixture D notice if the same is a lightly sulfided hydrocarbon with 1 percent by weight of sulfur is added (mixture E) and the latter oil mixture as a spindle oil under similar proportions how the oil mixture D is used. The table thus shows the synergistic effect claimed Mixtures clearly visible.
The oil mixtures according to the invention can be used as spindle oils, needle oils and quite generally as lubricants used for textile machines.
