Description
Multi-cylinder supercharged air-compressing internal combustion engine The invention relates to a multi-cylinder, turbocharged, air-compressing internal combustion piston engine with a pressure source driven by it for introducing a lubricant into the finely atomized Shape into the charge air.
It has been shown in practice that when charged air-compressing Internal combustion piston engines subject the intake valves to more rapid wear are a phenomenon that can be turned off as a result of uncharged machines, that the combustion air supplied to the machine with excess pressure lubricating oil in finely atomized Form is mixed. Apparently the lubricant forms one on the valve seats Protective layer that has a full metallic touch when the valves are put on Prevented sitting and opposing. Sufficient for internal combustion engines that are not charged that which emerges from the valve guides and is sucked in in mostly small quantities Air-entrained lubricating oil to form the protective layer on the intake valve seats the end.
In a known supercharged multi-cylinder internal combustion engine the admixture of lubricant to the charge air takes place for the purpose of top lubrication continuously by means of a single atomizing device operated with compressed air for all cylinders.
According to the invention, the lubricant is introduced into the charge air also uses a single pressure source, the introduction, as in itself with a Mixture suction internal combustion engine known for the purpose of top lubrication, intermittent takes place, but the pressure source is driven so that the time of introduction steadily shifted in relation to the crankshaft position. Compared to the known Machine, the machine according to the invention is to be regarded as more advanced, than despite the intermittent injection, which allows better dosing than the introduction by continuously acting pressure, as a result of the constant displacement of the injection timing achieved an even distribution to all intake valves will.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing.
The combustion air is fed to the working chamber 1 of the working cylinder, denoted by 2 in the figure, of a four-stroke internal combustion piston engine (not shown) by a charger 4 driven by an exhaust gas turbine 3 via a charge air cooler 5 and an inlet valve 6. Between the charge air cooler 5 and the inlet valve 6, a nozzle 7 protrudes into the charge air line 8, through which a small amount of lubricant is intermittently injected during operation of the machine. The nozzle 7 is connected via the line 9 to a pressure source which consists of a pump 12 driven by the crankshaft 10 of the internal combustion engine via a belt 11 and a reservoir 14 connected to this via a suction line 13. The lubricant injected through the nozzle 7 is entrained by the charge air when the inlet valve 6 is open, wets the valve seats and the opposing seat in the cylinder head and forms a protective layer on both seats, which, when the valves are seated, creates an immediate, full metallic contact between the seat and opposing seat and thus one Prevents the seats from wearing out too quickly. The pump 12 is driven in such a way that the time at which the lubricant is introduced into the charge air line is constantly shifted in relation to the crankshaft position.
