Device for stripping electrical lines and cables
The invention relates to a device for stripping electrical lines
and cables, in particular jumper wires with an additional wrapping, in which
several mechanically interconnected pairs of jaws are provided with which
the insulation is destroyed and peeled off by crushing.
Devices for cutting the insulation are already known.
For example, fork-shaped knives that overlap or knives with cutouts
for the wire are provided. Furthermore, devices are known that with resilient
Notching knives are provided as well as devices, their notching knives to protect the metal vein
consist of soft material.
In a further known embodiment, the cutting pliers are for insulating pipes
Equipped with interchangeable knives in the jaws of the pliers, two of which are sharp-edged
and two are toothed. In addition to these, cutting the insulation to be removed
Tools, devices are also known in which the insulation by crushing
is destroyed and replaced. Here there are the pressing-off or cutting-off tools
made of materials that are hard enough to cut the insulation, on the other hand
but soft enough to be removed from the conductor material when excessive pressure is applied
to be pressed in what z. B. caused by a resilient jaw
can.
So müssen gabelförmig übereinandergreifende
However, all these known devices are flawed,
which severely limit their scope. So need fork-shaped overlapping
Knife can be adjusted accordingly for each wire size. But since one after
Readjustment must do at least one test stripping, the application comes
with often changing wire thickness, e.g. B. in wiring harnesses, not considered. Devices
with knives that are provided with cutouts for the wire have the disadvantage
that according to the number of pairs of notches in the knives, only a limited one
Number of different wire thicknesses can be stripped, also you have to strip the wire exactly
place between the corresponding pair of notches if there is no wire damage
should come. Trial stripping is essential here. Albeit devices
are equipped with resilient knives, the spring pressure of which can only be roughly adjusted
must, a wire notch is very likely here, because the knife will come with it
more or less spring force pressed against the metallic wire. With pliers designs
the spring travel means a loss of handiness. Knives made of soft materials,
z. B. made of wood or plastic, would remedy this with respect to the wire notch
create, if they were not in turn fraught with disadvantages. Soft materials
Due to their permanent plastic deformation, they only have a very short service life
and also the cutting ability decreases with increasing plasticity. Another
The disadvantage of plastic or soft materials is the inability to wrap them
in addition to sever.
zerdrückter Isolation, F i g. 3 die Seitenansicht zu F i g. 2 im Schnitt, F i g.
The invention is based on the object of providing a particularly simple and handy stripping device which can not only strip the insulation of the wire without setting the appropriate wire thickness and without notching the metal core, but which can also separate a wrapping with safety, so that it does not pull any covering threads from the remaining insulation. This object is achieved in the new stripping device, in which several mechanically interconnected pairs of jaws are provided, with which the insulation is destroyed by crushing and detached, in such a way that according to the invention the pairs of jaws formed with approximately parallel-extending pressure surfaces immediately after each other and with the pressure surfaces are approximately at right angles to each other, with the pair of jaws remote from the insulating separation point having significantly wider pressure surfaces than the adjacent pair. The principle of the new device is applicable to wire strippers or other stripping devices such. B. Automatic wire cutting and stripping machines. The particular advantages of using the device in the form of pliers are the achievable smallness, the simplicity and the handiness, which are decisive for manual operation. The stripping device is described below with reference to drawings. It shows F i g. 1 shows a view of a pliers design in the closed state, FIG. 2 shows the section of a pliers head in the closed state with crushed insulation, FIG. 3 shows the side view of FIG. 2 in section, F i g. 4 shows a perspective detail of the pliers head, FIG. 5 a piece of wire with cut insulation. In the F i g. 1 and 2 represent a pair of jaws of the head of a pliers-like design, the pressure surfaces 7 of which run approximately parallel. Positions 3 and 4 represent the pair of jaws connected behind them, the pressure surfaces 8 of which are approximately parallel to one another and run approximately at right angles to the pressure surfaces 7 of the jaws 1 and 2.
The wire 5 to be stripped is shown in FIG. 1 with its insulation
6 and in FIG. 2, 3 and 5 shown with the insulation cut away.
In diesem Falle
There are then two pairs of jaws one behind the other (Figs. 2 and 3), which are able to press the insulation flat with their contact surfaces. The two pairs of jaws are mechanically coupled to one another in such a way that when the two pairs of jaws are opened or closed, the other pair of jaws inevitably opens or closes accordingly. In the case of the pliers design, one jaw of one pair of jaws is expediently manufactured from one piece or rigidly connected to a jaw of the other pair of jaws. In Fig. 1 jaw 1 is rigidly connected to jaw 3 and jaw 2 to jaw 4. In this case, the jaws guide when opening and closing the jaw system, see the direction of the arrow in FIG. 1, a movement along an at least approximate straight line which runs at an angle of approximately 45 ° to the pressure surfaces of the jaws. A pair of jaws is provided with wider jaws in the new device. When the device is closed, the force effect is automatically limited, since the relatively lower specific pressure of the wider pair of jaws after the insulation has been separated brakes the process without damaging the wire. The jaws of the other pair of jaws are equipped with narrow pressure surfaces, for example 1.0 to 1.5 mm wide.
Anschlag nehmen;
The wire is now placed between the open jaws 1, 2, 3 and 4 that the end to be stripped comes to rest between the jaws 1 and 2. The subsequent closing of the device causes the insulation to be crushed in the length of the jaw width until the pressure surfaces 7 of the jaws 1 and 2 find resistance on the metallic wire. The mechanical coupling ensures that the pressure surfaces 8 (FIG. 4) of the jaws 3 and 4 also stop at the wire 5; at the same time, the insulation is separated in the plane between the two pairs of jaws down to the metallic wire. If the wire has a wrapping, the same is crushed between the pressure surfaces of the jaws 3 and 4 and the metallic wire. The separated insulation can easily be removed from the metallic wire without pulling covering threads from the remaining insulation.
