Bei den bekannten Pichvorrichtungen geschieht das Entpichen, d. h. das Losschmelzen des alten Pechüberzuges durch Einspritzen reinen heifsen Peches. Das alte Pech vermischt sich dabei mit dem frischen Pech und läuft gemeinsam mit letzterem in den Kochkessel, um dann in das nächste Fafs eingespritzt zu werden. Durch dieses immerwährende Kochen verdampfen die im Pech enthaltenen OeIe, das Pech wird spröde und springt leicht bei dem Gebrauch des Fasses ab, auf diese Weise das Bier verunreinigend. Dieses Verfahren ist auch schon deshalb zu verwerfen, weil Unreinlichkeiten, welche durch Zufall oder Absicht in das zu pichende Fafs gelangt sind, beim Entpichen mit in den das alte verunreinigte und auch das ungebrauchte reine Pech enthaltenden Kessel (allgemeinen Pechkessel) fliefsen und das neue Bier verderben bezw. verschlechtern, was unbedingt eine nachtheilige Wirkung auf den Geschmack des Bieres zur Folge haben mufs.In the case of the known adjustment devices, the adjustment takes place, i. Mit dem Hahnkegel e ist eine Schüssel h mit Auslaufstutzen K und vier Stützzapfen zur Aufnahme eines Fasses fest verbunden.
