Die relativen Stärken der Federn 208 und 34 sind so gewählt, daß das Blockierungselement in der Lage ist, die Klinke in die aus Fig. 10 ersichtliche Stellung zu bewegen, in welcher sie mit dem Stift 38 außer Eingriff ist. Der Deckel 24 wird daher durch keinerlei Mittel in der Schließstellung gehalten. Wenn man den Deckel trotzdem mit der Hand in diese Stellung bewegt, so öffnet er sich augenblicklich wieder unter der durch die Stange 94 übertragenen Kraft der Feder 96, sobald man den Deckel losläßt. Befindet sich kein Beutel in dem Staubsauger, so ist es also nicht möglich, den Deckel in seiner Schließstellung zu verriegeln. Die Ausführungsform nach Fig. 11 bis 14 ähnelt der soeben beschriebenen, mit der Ausnahme, daß ein Blockierungselement 220 mittels einer Halterung 221 auf der Innenseite der Platte 73 innerhalb des von dem Deckel 24 umschlossenen Raumes gelagert ist. Dieses Element ist mit einer Feder 222 versehen, welche bestrebt ist, dasselbe im Uhrzeigersinn zu schwenken (Fig. 8). Das Ende 224 des Blockierungselements 220 ist so angeordnet, daß er sich im Arbeitsweg des Armes 42 der Klinke 30 befindet. Die Feder 222 ist genügend stark, um die Klinke entgegen der Kraft ihrer Feder 34 zu verschwenken. Das Ende 226 des Blockierungselements 220 erstreckt sich durch einen Schlitz in der Wand 73, so daß das Ende entweder die Pappscheibe eines wegwerfbaren Staubbeutels oder den Ring 212 des Stoffstaubbeutels 210 berührt (Fig. 11). Dadurch ist das Blockierungselement 220 so verschwenkt worden, daß sein Ende 224 sich außerhalb des Arbeitsweges des Armes 42 befindet, so daß die Klinke 30 den Stift 38 erfassen kann (Fig. 11). Befindet sich jedoch kein Beutel in dem Staubsauger, so wie dies in Fig. 12 dargestellt ist, so kann die Feder 222 das Ende 224 des Blockierungselements 220 gegen den Arm 42 der Klinke 30 schwenken, so daß letztere daran gehindert ist, mit dem Stift 38 in Eingriff zu kommen. Unter diesen Umständen kann der vordere Deckel des Staubsaugers in seiner Schließstellung nicht verriegelt werden. Claims

PATENT CLAIMS: 1. Vacuum cleaner with a housing through the opening of which a dust separator can be inserted, a motor-driven fan to generate the air flow passing through the dust separator, a cover for the housing opening and a latch for releasable locking of the cover on the housing, characterized by a Movable blocking element (104, 204, 220) which is held in an inoperative position by the dust separator (74, 120, 210) inserted in the housing (10), but is in the working path of the pawl (42, 30) if the dust separator is missing moves and then prevents it from engaging when the cover (24) is closed.
