In Fig. ι und 2 der beiliegenden Zeichnung ist ein Apparat dargestellt, vermittelst dessen man auf Kochmaschinen, welche keine Bratöfen haben, oder wo der Raum zu klein ist, um Bratöfen herzurichten, braten und backen kann. Der Apparat ist aus Schwarzblech gefertigt und der Bratraum A, Fig. 3 und 4, an beiden Seiten, oben und hinten von drei Wänden umgeben, wie Fig. 3 und 4 zeigen. Zwischen der ersten und zweiten Wand, von innen gerechnet, befinden sich die Kanäle b der Feuerung, und zwar gehen dieselben von unten, dem Emgangsrohr F, Fig. 4, nach hinten, dann die beiden Seiten nach vorn entlang, sodann nach oben und durch das Ausgangsrohr d nach dem Maschinenfeuerungskanal oder dem russischen Rohr E. Die dritte Wand dient dem Apparat als Mantel und kann der Zwischenraum g, Fig. 3 und 4, zwischen der zweiten und dritten Wand mit einer schlecht leitenden Masse ausgefüllt werden, um ein zu schnelles Erkalten zu verhindern und die Hitze in dem Bratraum zu erhöhen. Soll der Apparat gebraucht werden, so setzt man denselben mit dem Eingangsrohr F in ein Kochloch der Maschine und verbindet das Ausgangsrohr d des Apparats durch ein Rohr mit dem zum Kamin führenden Kanal oder russischen Rohr E. Man macht nun, wie gewöhnlich, Feuer in der Maschine, öffnet dann die Klappe h an dem Apparat und schliefst den Schieber i am Maschinenfeuerungskanal; das Feuer geht nun durch die Kanäle b des Apparats und wird letzterer in wenigen Minuten zum Braten fertig sein. Mittelst des Schiebers i der Maschine und der Klappe h des Apparats ist die Hitze ganz nach Bedürfnifs zu reguliren.The apparatus is made of black sheet metal and the roasting space A, FIGS. 3 and 4, is surrounded on both sides, at the top and at the back by three walls, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4.
