Description
It is known that deposits (so-called fouling) in heat exchangers (Heat exchangers) the effectiveness of heat transfer between those at the heat exchange disrupt the fluids involved. In micro heat exchangers with microchannels, whose diameter is <1 mm, the same effects can be observed, only that these block individual or all microchannels there. Taking into account that microreactors especially for extremely exothermic reactions, explosive mixtures or toxic chemicals are used, so it is understandable that early It must be recognized whether a safe temperature control due to the constipation of heat exchangers, which are used, among other things, as dwell times, no longer guaranteed can be. To increase throughput are in micro heat exchangers frequently microchannels connected in parallel. An even distribution of the fluids on this microchannels is achieved by their relatively high flow resistance. Become now single microchannels blocked, the heat transfer surface and decreases hence the efficiency of heat transfer. The efficiency is calculated from the capacity flows (mass flow × specific Heat capacity) of am heat exchange involved fluids and their temperatures at entry and exit in or out of the heat exchanger. However, the fluid temperatures cannot be recorded directly in the microchannels, since the currently available temperature sensor are so big that they're at least a big one Part of the channel cross section would block and that even at a low level Contact with the duct wall leads to adulteration due to heat conduction to calculate.
The invention is therefore the object based on a simple diagnosis of blockages in channels one micro heat to enable.
According to the invention, the object is achieved by the arrangement specified in claim 1 for diagnosing constipation in channels a micro heat exchanger solved, being outside on the micro heat exchanger at least one temperature sensor is arranged, and an evaluation device thereon connected due to changes in measured temperature with unchanged Entry parameters of the at the heat exchange fluids involved diagnosed constipation. Furthermore, the task by a corresponding method specified in claim 4 solved.
The axial heat conduction in the duct wall plays for micro heat exchangers in contrast to conventional heat exchangers, because The relationship of wall cross-sectional area to duct cross-sectional area greatly increased is. As a result, especially with heat-conducting materials, the results are greatly reduced Efficiencies versus conventional heat exchangers. In the area of small NTUs (Number of Transfer Units), i.e. H. for little ones conditions of the product of the heat transfer surface and Heat transfer coefficient to the heat capacity flow efficiency decreases with falling NTU while being in the area of large NTUs remains constant. In the microchannels there is always a laminar-creeping flow, so that the heat transfer coefficient independently from the flow velocity is. If some microchannels become clogged, the others increase channels the flow rate; the heat transfer coefficient remains but constant and the transferred heat decreases due to the reduced heat transfer area. Because the heat capacity flow constant remains, the efficiency drops.
The invention now takes advantage of the fact that due to the high heat conduction the temperature of the micro heat exchanger wall with unchanged entry parameters the one at heat exchange involved fluids, that is at constant mass flows and constant fluid inlet temperatures, and at sufficiently small NTU (about> 5) Measure of efficiency of the heat exchanger is. At the same time, the temperature is also due to the high heat conduction in the wall, in micro heat exchangers relatively homogeneous, so that based on the temperature of the micro heat exchanger inferred about efficiency which, in turn, is much easier to grasp because the mounting of the temperature sensor on the outside of the micro heat exchanger is unproblematic. Another advantage is that the Temperature sensor does not come into contact with the fluids, so not on chemical resistance or the catalytic effect of the temperature sensor must be taken into account. With very large ones Micro heat exchangers, can temperature measurement with several temperature sensors on several Places.
In an alternative arrangement for the diagnosis of blockages in channels of a micro heat exchanger the blockages are not diagnosed due to changes in the measured temperature; instead, a control device is connected to the temperature sensor, which is the mass flow of one of the fluids involved in heat exchange regulates in the sense of keeping the measured temperature constant, being due to changes constipation is diagnosed in the mass flow.
The micro heat exchanger is used as a residence for chemical Reactions used, the heat of reaction to be added or removed must also be taken into account become what a more complex evaluation (fuzzy, neural Networks) can take place.
