Description
Laut einer Studie des Bundesverkehrsministerium soll der Güterverkehr bis zum Jahr 2015 nochmals um ca. 50 % ansteigen. Der größte Teil des Güterverkehrs wird über die Straßen mit Lastkraftwagen abgewickelt. Die Anzahl der LKW 's auf deutschen Straßen, aber auch in Gesamteuropa, wird nochmals deutlich zunehmen. Die Vielzahl der LKW 's bereitet nicht nur in Bezug auf den fließenden Verkehr Kapazitätsprobleme sondern auch in Bezug auf den ruhenden Verkehr. Die Tank- und Rastanlagen an den Autobahnen sind heute schon größtenteils überlastet. Der Bund betreibt deshalb verstärkt den Ausbau der bestehenden Anlagen. Weiterhin werden im großen Maße privatbetriebene Autohöfe angelegt.
