Description
The invention relates to a clothing, in particular a dryer fabric, for a machine for the production and/or processing of a fibrous web, which is designed to circulate endlessly in the machine when used as intended and to transport the fibrous web along with it on a section of its circulating path, the Covering is essentially formed from a perforated plastic film, and wherein a first upper side of the covering, which faces the fibrous web during intended use, has a microstructure. Furthermore, the invention relates to a dryer section comprising such a fabric, and a method for producing such a fabric.
However, there are applications in which it is advantageous to have good adhesion between the clothing and the fibrous web transported on it. This applies in particular to the case when the clothing that transports the fibrous web is designed as a drying fabric.
The problem here, however, is that the vacuum applied inevitably causes forces to act on the drying fabric, which lead to a deflection of the drying fabric. There is a risk that the system will become unstable due to a sharp increase in negative pressure and that the drying fabric will rub against the sealing elements 132' of the stabilizer 130'. This is to be avoided, since grinding would inevitably lead to abrasive wear on the sealing elements 132' and on the drying fabric. For this reason, the negative pressure of the stabilizer 130' cannot be arbitrarily increased. In addition, the required sealing elements 132' tend to become soiled by the dust particles in the paper machine and must be intensively maintained in order not to impair the function of the stabilizer 130'.
It is the object of the present invention to avoid or at least reduce the problems described above.
This problem is solved by the features of the independent claims. The dependent claims relate to advantageous developments of the present invention.
In particular, the object is achieved by a generic covering described at the outset, which is characterized according to the invention in that the microstructuring comprises a multiplicity of suction cup-like depressions. This makes it possible to reliably detach the fibrous web from the surface of the drying cylinder and hold it stably on the drying fabric without applying a strong vacuum to the stabilizer, which would otherwise entail the risk of the drying fabric rubbing against the sealing elements of the stabilizer. Preferably, on the provision of a stabilizer can be dispensed with entirely, which avoids costs for its manufacture, operation and maintenance.
The inventor explains this observed effect as follows: When the fibrous web is pressed against the fabric, the flexible material of the fibrous web is at least partially pressed into the suction cup-like depressions, with the air being pressed out of the suction cup-like depressions at the same time. If the pressure of the fibrous web on the covering decreases, the fibrous web would come out of the suction cup-like indentations due to its elastic properties. However, it is not so easy for air to flow back into a respective suction cup-like depression, so that a small vacuum is formed there, which thus holds the fibrous web to the clothing.
Preferably, the suction cup-like depressions are geometrically straight in such a way that they exert a suction force on the fibrous web transported on the clothing when the clothing is used as intended.
The suction cup-like depressions preferably form a substantially circular peripheral edge with the first surface. The peripheral edge then acts as a kind of seal that prevents air from flowing into the suction-cup-like depressions when the pressure from the fabric on the fibrous web decreases. The suction cup-like depressions are preferably spaced apart from one another in such a way that their peripheral edges do not touch. Likewise, they should not touch the perforations.
It has proven advantageous in practice if the peripheral edge of the suction cup-like depressions have a diameter of between 50 μm and 5,000 μm, preferably between 200 μm and 1000 μm.
Furthermore, starting from the first surface, the suction cup-like depressions can have a maximum depth of between 10 μm and 500 μm, preferably between 25 μm and 250 μm.
In general, the suction cup-like indentations can essentially correspond to a section of a spherical surface. In other words, the suction cup-like indentations can represent concave recesses which geometrically essentially have the shape that results when a sphere is divided into two sections by a plane. Preferably, the smaller of the two sections should be chosen.
In order to achieve the most uniform possible distribution of the adhesive forces between the covering of the fibrous web, it can be provided that the suction cup-like indentations are all essentially identical to one another and/or that the suction cup-like indentations are distributed essentially evenly on the first surface. With "substantially evenly distributed" it is of course to be taken into account that there can be no suction cup-like depressions where the perforations are located. It may also be the case that there are no or fewer suction-cup-like depressions in the side edge area of the clothing, where no fibrous web is transported during normal operation.
Alternatively, the density of suction-cup-like indentations in the edge area can also be increased compared to a central area between the two side edges of the fabric, in order to counteract possible fluttering of the edges of the fibrous web.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the covering can essentially be formed from a monolithically formed plastic film.
In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the covering can also essentially be formed from a laminate of monolithic plastic films or plastic film layers. For example, the laminate can comprise three, four or five individual plastic films or plastic film layers. The plastic films can either all be formed from the same base material, such as PET, or from different base materials. In the latter case, the properties of the covering can be adjusted in a more targeted manner. For example, the plastic film that forms a second top side opposite the first top side can be particularly wear-resistant.
If the covering consists of a laminate made up of several plastic films or plastic film layers, it is advantageous when the suction cup-like indentations are formed entirely in the plastic film or the plastic film layer of the laminate, which provides the first upper side. This has an advantageous effect on the structural stability of the covering.
In order to achieve the best possible adhesion between the fibrous web and the covering, provision can also be made for the first top side and preferably also a second top side of the covering opposite the first top side and facing away from the fibrous web to be essentially smooth. Burrs that occur, for example, when perforating the fabric by punching should preferably be removed for this purpose.
A further aspect of the present invention relates to a drying section of a machine for producing and/or processing a fibrous web comprising a clothing according to the invention as described above, the drying section preferably being free of stabilizers. By avoiding stabilizers, the problems mentioned at the outset in such a dryer section can also be avoided. In addition, energy that has to be made available to generate the negative pressure on the stabilizers during ongoing operation of the dryer section can be saved.
Yet another aspect of the present invention relates to a method for producing an above-described fabric according to the invention, comprising the following steps: providing a plastic film having a first top side and a second top side opposite the first top side; punching the plastic film to form a plurality of perforations in the plastic film connecting the first top surface to the second top surface; Introducing a large number of suction cup-like indentations in the plastic film on the first upper side, preferably by means of the action of heat and/or pressure. It is irrelevant whether the perforations are made in the plastic film first and then the suction cup-like indentations or vice versa. The suction cup-like indentations are preferably introduced into the plastic film by hot stamping and/or calendering. In the case of larger perforations, such as those found in dryer fabrics, punching has the advantage that the perforations can be made relatively quickly and easily compared to laser drilling, for example. With laser drilling, smaller perforations, such as those required for forming fabrics for low-mark dewatering, can be made.

The suction cup-
