Abstract

Security paper is used for making banknotes, but also for passports, identity cards, credit cards, check forms, securities, stamps or the like. The security papers for the different products differ, for example, in terms of paper resistance requirements. Security paper can be produced individually, but is also available as pre-produced merchandise in various forms.

Security paper provides protection against counterfeiting. For this purpose, the security paper is regularly provided with security features after paper production.

As materials for the production of security paper, for example, raw material compositions are used which contain cotton or bleached pulp, wherein the cotton content may be 90% or more.

Summary

The object of the invention is to provide a method for producing a security feature on a security paper, which allows the design of the security feature in various embodiments in a simple and efficient manner.

To achieve the object, a method for producing a security feature on a security paper according to the independent claim 1 is provided. Furthermore, the use of the security paper produced according to claim 11 is provided. Further embodiments are the subject of dependent claims.

In one aspect, there is provided a method of manufacturing a security feature on a security paper, wherein a security paper is created by a papermaking process, and wherein a color security feature is formed on the security paper. To form the color security feature during the papermaking process, a dye is at least locally applied to a not yet or not yet finally dried intermediate product of the security paper by means of a paint application process. The intermediate is then dried or further dried to produce the security paper.

According to the proposed technology, the color security feature is formed during the production of the security paper, whereby security paper can be produced which already has the color security feature. The dye may be applied while an intermediate, scooped pulp is placed on a dryer.
